Re: Split with two synth sounds - Not Possible?
What can be (unintentionally, I'm sure) deceptive is the legend that comes up, "SynthBass 12/Fat Fifth JX." It "looks" like you're hearing two sounds, and while it is immediately obvious that the left hand is playing a synth bass sound, it may not be immediately obvious to someone what sound the RH is playing.

Re: Split with two synth sounds - Not Possible?
anotherscott...thanks...now I know it wasn't just me. What would concern me is someone who isn't very familiar with Nord instruments seeing that, not picking up on the quick program change and thinking it's two synths at once. Clearly by the existence of this thread alone there appears to be some confusion about that capability. analogika...you appear to be a caveat emptor dude...which I generally subscribe too as well...but for a few thousand bucks and a very complex instrument, if I were Clavia, I would be more sensitive to something like this....just my opinion.

jimmyjames wrote:Couple things...first shmuelyosef...want to confirm what you said about pitch bend. You have an E6 and the organ and certain samples do respond to it via MIDI? I could find nothing in the user manual about this...I thought it had been dropped as a feature from the E5. Might change my view on getting an E6.
Nothing in the manual that I know of. I almost always have a synth on the rack above my Nord...both studio and live. My main synth is a Sequential OB-6 which has a nice 49-key Fatar board with aftertouch and velocity plus a pitch and mod wheel. I often play a second voice on the Nord with the external keyboard, so I don't lose range...just stumbled upon the pitch wheel thing.

Re: Split with two synth sounds - Not Possible?
You can see him changing patch at 8.08
If you pause at 8.07 its on synth bass.
Pause again at 8.08 he selects synth pad.

Re: Split with two piano sounds - Not Possible?
Hi all, not to ask a redundant question, but I’m looking to confirm that the 6D CANNOT be split between two different piano sounds ? Example- I’d like to split the keyboard between a piano and a clav sound but thus far haven’t found a way to do it.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Split with two synth sounds - Not Possible?
Correct, unless you load a piano or clav sound into the sample-synth section. But those won't be the same as the quality pianos and clavs that Nord provides in its Piano section.

Thanks @anotherscott
Pretty bizarre for an instrument with other settings like the organ/piano/synth layering that you CAN do. Oh well, still amazing sounding organs and electric keyboards

Re: Split with two synth sounds - Not Possible?
Yup. Three sound sections (organ, piano, and sample-synth), you can mix-and-match one sound from each. The Stage 3 lets you mix and match two sounds from each. The Electro 6 is still a step up from the Electro 5 (two sound split instead of three) or earlier Electros (no splits at all).

That’s because the Electro has “only” one engine of each, other than the Stage which provides two engines of each (organ, piano and synth) and as such can also layer/split two of the same engines
