Dear learned friends,
Just picked up an MX49 to sit on top of my Nord - (cheapest way to hack into the MOTIF library!)
Question: all user patches are stored in the MX user memory as 'PERFORMANCES'.
Is there any way I can set my Nord patches to send prog change messages into these performances?
FYI, it is sending sequential change messages, so I know it's sending something - but wondering if i can edit what messages are being set?
TIA

Nope. The Stage series does it with its EXT functions, but there's nothing like that in the Electro. Workaround could be to move your sounds around in the Yamaha so that the sequential program changes being sent by the Nord end up calling up the Yamaha sounds you want anway.

Re: Sending prog change msgs from E5 HP
Thanks Scott,
That was my thought too, but any user edits can't be changed/stored in the 'VOICES' that the Nord messages are reaching, user patches can only be in 'PERFORMANCES' . . .
I've got it all arranged now for Saturday's gig, but it'll mean changing both boxes ahead of each song - and no, I'm not taking bets that I won't forget to change one or t'other!
Many thanks for the reply though - cheers

If you have an iPad or an Android tablet you may consider using an app such as Set List Maker or iMidiPatchbay (iPad only) to make your life easier with regards to handling MIDI program changes on multiple instruments, setlists etc..
