RE: No LEDs (Electro 6D)?

Postby monsterjazzlicks » 11 Oct 2021, 18:58

HI folks,

I have read reports on this fault happening on other Nord models but not in relation to the Electo 6D (which I purchased in September two years ago).

Every single coloured LED is not lighting up! The only information/lighting which is functioning is the LCD screen in the centre. Goodness knows why this has happened?

I'm guessing it's out of warranty now?

There is mention of similar customers sending the keyboard to Sound Technology in Herts. I do not know if I would even qualify for that, to be honest? And because I purchased a softcase alongside the Electro the store kept the box.

Where might I go from here, please?

Many thanks in advance for any kind assistance offered . . .

Best,

Paul David Seaman (UK)

Hi Paul,
Sorry to hear about your problem.
If you feel able to open it yourself, I recommend checking if the cable/connectors that run between the main circuit board and the control panel are properly seated and fully connected. Check both ends of the cable (or cables -- I couldn't find a picture of the internals of the NE6D) if you decide to.
Best of luck,
-pterm

Hi pterm,

Many thanks for your kind response here. I really appreciate that.

I would not feel comfortable in performing those actions in case I make the matter worse! - I am not a skilled electrician in any case. But I do have a couple of tradesman friends who might be able to.

However, I am thinking I might be better in contacting Nord. As I say, I bought it two years ago and I'm pretty sure the warranty will have expired.

Cheers,

Paul
