Re: RE: Electro 6D vs. Electro 73 HP
I have a Fusion case for mine. Fusion is a Yorkshire company. I have a gig back each for the Stage and Electro. I think the Keyboard 4 is the case for the Electro 73. Good quality case, light, protective and flexible. It has a shoulder strap and backpack straps. Also includes little foam blocks to custom fit your instrument.
Also has a nice big pocket for larger items like music stands. A nice carry bag.

Thanks a lot Mike,
I'll take a look... I have not heard of them before to be honest.
However, I am very tempted, should I purchase the Electro SW 73, to go with the Nord HP case.

btw - I received an email response to my message of Friday to the Flightcase Warehouse Company:

They said this would be a bit too big but they do supply cushion blocks.

But it's good to know, if you ever want to, it's easy.

So subjective... the Nord pitch stick is my favorite of all the pitch bend mechanisms I"ve used, except maybe for the ribbon on the old Yamaha CS60/CS80.

Yup. The old Stage Classic 88 had one of the more organ-amenable actions, as hammer actions go... the HP model is not nearly as good for that.
monsterjazzlicks wrote:If the 'Electro 6D 61' and 'Electro 6 SW 73' have exactly the same keybed etc, then why does Nord not call the former an 'Electro 6 SW 61'? One would only (naturally) assume that there was some kind of difference between the two
I guess it's because they only make one 61, so there's no need for its name to tell you which action it has. They make two different 73s, so they need to differentiate the model names... SW for Semi Weighted action, HP for Hammer Portable action.

Re: RE: Electro 6D vs. Electro 73 HP
Hi Scott,
Cheers. I actually have a rack-mount Roland XV50/50 module that I can hook up anytime if needed, for whatever reason. I was actually thinking of using the superb Fretless Bass on it (instead of the Nord Bass samples/presets).
OK, well each to their own I suppose. I am really fussy about 'benders' and so I would happily not have one on-board if I did not like it's design. I am quite weird like that!
Even the old Stage Classic 88 scuppered my Organ playing and so the HP is going to cripple it completely! I am not complaining though because the keybed was, at the time, perfectly fine for Piano playing.
I guess your calculations are correct here. I actually thought 'HP' stood for 'Hammer Piano'. It's a shame that the Electro SW 73 does not have (drawbar) LEDs but you can't always expect everything to rule in one's favour (it would be a jolly nice world if it did though!).
Ta,
Paul

Depending on exactly which features you really need, maybe you'd want to look into a used Electro 4 (73), Electro 3 (73), or Nord Stage 2/2EX Compact, all of which can give you 73 keys along with the LEDs you prefer. Though be aware that the low key of these 73s is F rather than E.

Hi Scott,
I require the Organ B3 Bass which I believe is exclusive to the Electro 6?

The new Yamaha (YC61) has drawbars AND LEDs. I'm surprised Nord hasn't implemented this already, but I can't imagine they will stand by while being outdone by another brand. I'd be shocked if this isn't implemented in the next iterations of the Stage and Electro.

I don't know if I'd say Nord has been outdone here. It is a tricky area for clones. With physical drawbars, how do you do presets? The digital and physical drawbar positions will always be mismatched. (But real testicals don't do presets). With LED drawbars that problem is solved, but they're just not drawbars man. Nord has given their customers the choice (has anyone else done that?) The Yamaha solution is pretty neat, but will this really prove to be the start of the art in drawbar implementation when we look back in 5 years? Every clone ever has chosen either physical or LED (or motorised, but nup). But does this nut really need a hammer?

Hi Brian,
Yes, let's hope that this is the case. In all actuality all of my gigs have been cancelled for obvious reasons, and so it is not imperative that I purchase/upgrade to the Electro SW 73 asap. However, I would like to purchase one this year if possible, and I am not sure if Nord have any such plans to release a new 'rival' (to the Yamaha 'YC61') before the year is out.
