I've run into a hiccup on my Electro 6D. I have a MIDI controller (typically an Arturia Keylab Essential 49) connected via the MIDI in to my Electro. I have a sustain and a control pedal plugged into the Electro.
When I assign the Organ to the MIDI controller via "EXTERNAL KBD TO LO" and turn on the "CTRL PED" option on the organ, the control pedal works as expected. It effectively raises and lowers the volume of the organ.
However, when I do the same thing with the synth engine (assign it to the MIDI controller via "EXTERNAL KBD TO LO" and turn on the "CTRL PED" option), the control pedal has no effect on the synth volume. The same lack-of-effect holds for the sustain pedal. Additionally, the same lack-of-effect holds for the piano, when it is assigned to the external keyboard.
If I assign the synth to the upper zone (I.e., the Electro itself), the control pedal works as expected.
In short, this problem seems isolated to the synth engine operating on the MIDI controller as an external keyboard.
I'd like the ability to assign the synth to my MIDI controller and have the control and sustain pedals work for that sound. I actually thought I had this working at one point, but now I'm second-guessing myself!
I've tried:
- checking my MIDI settings on my Nord (Global channel is off; ExtKB is on 1, matching my MIDI controller),
- a full factory reset with the updated OS (v2.62) on my Electro
- using a different MIDI controller (tried both my Arturia Keylab Essential 49 and my Alesis Q49) to no avail
- and obviously reading the manual
