Pitch bend on Electro 6

Postby Aida_w » 01 Apr 2020, 22:56

Hi there,
does anybody have any experience with any external effect unit (for guitars, maybe) in order to get pitch bend on the Electro 6?

I know the option via external MIDI keyboard having a bender. But in order to have pitch bend for just a couple of songs at a gig it is not feasible having an extra keyboard on stage.

There is a video online describing the Behringer Ultra Shifter US 600 doing the job but this unit is no longer on the market.

Maybe the Mooer Audio Pitch Step could be a solution?

I would need this option to get a decent Bluesharp sound out of the Electro 6's #172 Sample Synth ("Bluesharp").
Any input is very much appreciated!

Cheers
Tilman

Thanks,
but two downers:
a.) not available anymore
b.) you need an extra expression pedal

That's THE major bummer about the Electro - no pitchbend and mod wheel. There are some fine sounding synth patches on my 6D but no easy way to play a natural sounding musical line with subtle articulation. I carry a Stage 2EX as well and play any synth parts on it - but it's sooo heavy to lug around.

The nord electros are supposed to be electromechanical instruments simulators, none of those instruments ever had a pitch bend. Bitch bend is a feature of synthesizers, that's why nord put it on the leads, waves and modulars. It doesn't annoy me at all that electros have no pitch bend, those guys at clavia have wisely designed different instruments for different needs. If your need is to have everything on one board you simply buy the stage.

Yep! „Bitch bend“ is a feature I‘d really love to have on my board! Wow!

Not really, you can still get it second hand (even cheaper), or if you want a new one, get an alternative, like the Boss PS-5 or PS-6.
If you do not want an expression pedal you can get a flat pot and connect it in the expression input of the effect, to use as a pitch ribbon:

To be serious again - as I have my iPad placed on top of my keyboard anyway, I searched the appstore and found these apps:
- ModWheels
- Weeel
@Tilman: Maybe that‘s also a solution for you? At least not as heavy as a second keyboard. I‘ll try one out tomorrow. Keep rockin‘.
