But this thread is about MIDI transmission of key hits - which should not be the same. Therefore the manual for OS 2.6 says, the internal Electro 6 organ engine will ignore incoming velocity messages while playing, but is sending and receiving velocity. Interestingly the manual for older OSes doesn't say anything about velocity - they seem to have changed at least velocity curves between OS 2.5x and 2.6 - that's why there is a System setting for legacy velocity MIDI curves.
I experienced the same problem: the velocity was always at maximum strength when I used the Nord electro HP as master midi in a DAW.
I couldn't find a way to change this, nor did I find any information in the manual or online, so I stopped using it as a midi keyboard.
I really can't see why this thread is suddenly about the key velocities when using the keyboard's own samples. It should have nothing to do with it, nor should the sample mode influence its midi functions in Midi OUT.
You would expect from such an expensive keyboard with MIDI out function that it is usable as a master midi keyboard ... otherwise the function is useless.
But perhaps there is a way to adapt the velocity with the KBD knob? I suspect not.
Anyway, I was very disappointed on this point. All in all, this keyboard was way too expensive for its capabilities and limited memory.
Perhaps it's wonderful as a gigging instrument, but in the studio at home not so much.
