Me Too.
I bought and returned a stage 3 compact. I didnt like it.
I bought and returned a stage 3 HP. I didnt like the shallow Keybed because of the aftertouch.
I considered a NE6HP but because it doesnt have the set list, Im sticking with my trusty 5HP.

My wish list for an NE7 would be.
Obviously No aftertouch, No pitchbend or mod wheel.
Reinstate the Set list.
Reinstate the NE2 Clav.
Mono mode for the sample player would be good.

Now that I just pulled the trigger on a new Electro 6, the one thing I want to see in the E7 is . . .

. . . that is it not released for many years to come! LOL

I bought a Nord Electro 6 about 5 Months ago, and I love it! It's an AMAZING travel keyboard, and HUGE improvement over the Electro 5 (because it has individual volume control for each section!) There are a few things I miss when I am playing the electro 6 instead of my Stage 2EX (aside from the extra keys, of course!)

1) Dedicated rotary amp simulator in the organ section. I often layer my Rhodes and B3 patches, especially to thicken the sound for acoustic gigs. I had to create a 2 separate patches (one that has the Rhodes, with the amp simulator on the piano section, and one that has the Rhodes and organ layered with effects on the organ but NOT the Rhodes). The amp simulator is a lot more important on the B3 if they are layered, but it would nice to be able to do both.

2) PITCH BEND. I SO miss this for my bass samples, especially

3) expanded control over synth section and effects section, especially control over delay effect. Being able to control the amp filter with the expression pedal would be pretty amazing as well

4) Aftertouch and Mod wheel would be nice as well, but I don't miss them as much as I miss the PB!

All in all, its an amazing instrument, and I'm glad I bought it (so I kind of agree with Rusty Mike)

On the individual volume controls on the 6, I actually prefer the single volume mixer knob on the 5, which controls the balance between two parts. It's centrally positioned and close to the keys so that mid-performance it's easy to reach for it and make changes.

Using the Electro as my bottom board as I do onstage, I think i'd find the separate volume knobs towards the back of the 6 less convenient.

That’s funny, but I actually like the way the E6 has the volume controls over the E5. It mimics the Stage’s ergonomics.

Since the E6 is now 3-part multitimbral, a single balance knob won’t work anymore. It was ok on the E5 because you balanced between two parts.

As a new owner of a 6D 61 I am very happy with the board. I am an organ player, so really couldn't care less about a pitch bend wheel, the only thing I used it on when I had a VR-09B was to control the Leslie emulation, and Nord have the Half moon switch for that. If you want the functionality of a Stage, buy a Stage. I know they are much more expensive, but if they start adding this functionality to the Electro, it's price will increase to reflect this. They won't just add these bits out of kindness, because that wouldn't be fair on the Stage owners. The Electro is an Organ and Piano (which has been previously stated) first with a few light weight synth samples thrown in. If you want a deeply moddable synth, then you have bought the wrong board. I am happy that I have a Vox Continental, Super Continental, Farfisa Compact, B3, Pipe Organ, Steinway Grand, Rhodes and Harpsichord all in one easily portable package. If I ever get an upgraded board, I'd get the C2D for the second manual and full draw bars.

The one thing I would like to see (unless I have missed how to) is to be able to apply different effects on keyboard splits. To be able to apply a bit of distortion to a left hand Rhodes without affecting the Vox when I'm doing The Doors for example.

You can achieve a patch like you described with the 6D or even the 5D. The only global effect for either is Reverb. The delay and other two effects sections can be applied to the engine of your choosing by double tapping the on button until the desired sound engine (o, p, or s on the 6D) is affected.

Thanks for the info, with this my happiness with the 6D is now complete :keyboard2:
