Nord Electro 6 D Reverb on a mechanical Leslie

Postby synthmax » 08 Sep 2019, 14:58

Hello everybody,
I switched from Nord Electro 3 to Nord Electro 6. As before, I would like to use a mechanical Leslie in the Nord Electro 6. So I connected the instrument to a Hammond Leslie 2101 MkII. The Electro 6 I have configured so that the right output of the organ is output. All other sounds go through the left exit.
Of course, in this combination I will do the internal Leslie simulation switch off. Here I notice that the reverb effect is no longer being output. As soon as I turn on the internal Leslie simulation, the reverb comes through. That does not make sense, though, because I do not want to feed the simulated sound into Hamond Leslie. Does anyone know the problem or is that a mistake in the firmware?
Or does someone have a solution idea?

Best regards
Synthmax

Hello,
is there nobody who runs the Nord Electro6 on an external Leslie or has experience with it?

Re: Nord Electro 6D - reverb and routing/Leslie sim

Postby Schorsch » 14 Sep 2019, 09:24

Hi, I think that the topic is misleading as you did not mention a problem with an external Leslie but a problem with the reverb not working when organ is routed to the right output and internal rotary sim is being switched off. Maybe changing the subject to the real problem would help having people look at it?

As far as I can see from the Electro 6D User manual (I don’t own one by myself) the reverb should be global and I therefore would expect it to be independent from the internal rotary sim and the output routing, but maybe Electro 6 users can tell more. Just to be sure - you are using the most recent OS version?

Hello Schorsch,
Thanks for the answer. You're right. It refers to a problem with the circuit of the reverb. I suppose the reverb goes to the sum, except when switching to the internal Leslie. He seems to go through the reverb and then through the Leslie.
However, I do not understand that the reverb is completely eliminated when the internal Leslie is turned off at the organ. Even if I choose a different speaker combo, the reverb is not usable.
Important, the Nord Electro6 responds only when I switch the organ to R and the other sonds to L. Strangely, everything works in stereo mode as desired. However I do not want to play the pianos and samples over the external Leslie, but rather as with the function thought, on a different speaker system.

The OS is the latest. OS v 1.12. Maybe the bug is only in the firmware like that. If it works on a previous OS I would, if possible, downgrade.

I'll write Clavia support Maybe the mistake is known.

Best regards

Hello synthmax,
I also combine a Leslie 2101 MK2 with the Nord Electro 6D and I also miss the reverb from the keyboard. Meanwhile I additionally use a Boss reverb pedal to get the effect in question and I hope that I cause no damage by doing this. :? On stage I will try to get the reverb from the PA mixer if the sound of the Leslie runs through microphones.
Apart from this I would like to know if you are satisfied with the Leslie sound as such (the sound of the 2101 combined with the Electro 6).

Best regards
Carlo

Hmmmmm, I'm considering changing from the Nord 5D to the 6D to use my Leslie 145. Do you guys lose the reverb on just the organ side or on the pianos and synths that are running to the left as well? Thanks Ed

Hello Carlo,
In general, I am very satisfied with the sound of Leslie Leslie. For the small size, the system is great. Sonically, it also harmonizes well with the Nord Electro organs. All right, except for the problem with the reverb.

Hey Estork,
If the channels are split between organ and other sounds, the other sounds will continue to be reverbed.
How is it with the NE5? Does the reverb on the organ work in the described constellation?

Hi guys.
I am considering a Nord Electro 6 HP to use with mechanical Leslie.
Does anyone know if the reverb bug is fixed?

My plan is to get organ signal out in a separate channel and have an DIY preamp before the Leslie.
But does it mean you loose stereo on piano sounds ?

Any comments or thoughts are appreciated :)
