Nord electro 4 not compatible with studiologic mp-113?
Hey guys I've scoured the internet to find a solution to this with no avail.
I recently purchased a studiologic mp-113 bass pedal system that was working perfectly fine when connected to the sellers Hammond sk2 but after plugging into my Nord electro 4, they haven't made a sound.
I thought it was as simple as, plug the pedals into a power source, then connect the midi cable from the pedals into the midi in socket.
Nothing I try seems to work, please help!

Re: Nord electro 4 not compatible with studiologic mp-113?
Hi and welcome to NUF
The MP-113 is just a MIDI pedal, it has no sounds on board and acts just like any MIDI master keyboard, sending note messages over MIDI but, since NE4 is monotimbral (unlike the SK2) and receives only on a single MIDI channel, there is not much you can do on it from an external MIDI master, other than playing the same single sound you can play from its own keyboard (once you set the external master, so in your case the MP113, to the same channel set on NE4 or viceversa)

Thank you for your response, do you know how to set the mp113 to the same channel set on the nord? I cant seem to get anything from them (I know they will make the same sound as the keyboard) thank you

https://www.studiologic-music.com/suppo ... ual_EN.pdf page 5 (check also what channel is set on your NE4 first, of course, if it is OFF set it to 1)
Note: I forgot that if you play Organ you can use the NE4 MIDI Split function to assign the Lower manual to the external MIDI, so actually you can play a different organ sound (drawbars and vibrato/chorus combination) from the pedals

Thank you! I'm still stuck on setting the channel on the NE4 to 1 aa I've ever accessed this part of the keyboard. Do you have a step by step process on this? Your help is greatly appreciated

Enter the menus by pressing and holding Shift and the System, MIDI, B3 or Rotary button (Prog 1, Prog 2, Prog 3 or Prog 4) . Select a function with the Up/Down buttons and change the setting by pressing and holding Shift and the Up or Down button . Exit the menus by pressing a second time on the Prog 1, 2, 3 or 4 button .
The functions you need to access are MIDI #3 and #4+#7 (for MIDI Split)
3 - MIDI Channel
This sets the MIDI Channel that the Nord Electro 4D transmits and responds to .
Range: 1-16, OF - off (default = 1)
4 - Lower Channel
This sets the MIDI channel that the Lower Manual of the Nord Electro 4D organ section responds to when the organ split and the MIDI split modes are active .
Range: 1-16, OF - off (default = 2)
7 - MIDI Split Mode
If MIDI Split mode is On and the Organ is set to a split operation, the lower manual will be exclusively controlled via incoming MIDI informa- tion to the Electro 4D’s MIDI input . If you connect an external MIDI keyboard, the Electro 4D can then be used in a dual manual fashion .
Range: On, Off (default)
But I'd rather leave NE4 defaults and set the pedals to send to MIDI Ch1 or better Ch2 (and in this case enable MIDI Split Mode and Organ Split on NE4, of course)

Thanks again, I've set midi 3 and 4 to the OF function. And turned 7 on. The pedals still aren't working tho, is there more to it than that?

Update, I've successfully made the pedals work, still confused on how to do the midi split. The bass notes just aren't loud enough compared to the rest of the keyboard

Try it on the keyboard first (deactivating MIDI Split, so you split the keyboard) and check what are the drawbars and other settings of the Lower Organ part (check NE4 manual to see how to select Lower/Upper Organ controls)alexdamon704 wrote:Update, I've successfully made the pedals work, still confused on how to do the midi split.
