I dunno, but if Nord did that - leave out the piano engine & give the sampler more control - ADSR envelope, pitch bend and a resonant filter. It would find a market. It may not suit a keyboard player, but plenty of acts only need a few keyboard parts in their set that one of them plays when they have a hand free.
