Hey all,

I have a Nord Electro 3 61 key keyboard. I’m waiting to get my left out jack repaired, (the two metal pieces that secure it fell off). As it still works internally, I’m worried the quarter inch cable won’t be able to stay in during a gig. Is it possible to use the Right Out to go Direct-In with a DI box?

Hi, why don't you use the headphones-out with a Y cable instead?

In this way you'll keep the stereo image (or just use the L cable if you want to go mono) as before.

Thank you for the response and tip! I currently just have a regular quarter inch cable with a gig tomorrow night, so not much time for turnaround.

using headphone out can work if you have a need to preserve the stereo image, but...

1) you must be careful not to overdrive signal too early in your gain structure, and

2) since you're used to using only one side of the stereo feed anyway, there's nothing to be gained by using headphones in your situation

Thanks Pablo. Been asking around a ton about this. I’m not equipped to use the headphone jack at this time. Just gonna go DI using Right Out and see what happens
