Hi,
When I plug headphones into my Electro 2, sound only comes through one ear. It seems like a software thing, as nothing was amiss when taking it apart to look. Also, the pop sound comes through both ears when it is turned on.
Not sure what to do! I've gone through the menus on it and done stuff with panning etc, but as expected, that just makes the sound disappear.
Am wondering if this is a simple issue that's been had before, or whatever the hell is going on. It'd be nice to not have to put it through an interface every time i want both channels!
Annoyingly i can't try any factory reset stuff due to the support for the Electro 2's program being pulled.
Please help!

Re: Nord Electro 2 Sound Issues
Is it just the headphones output or is one of the two main outs also silent?

Did you check the output routing? There is a setting on the NE2 to route pianos to one channel and organ to the other. Check the manual.

Re: Nord Electro 2 Sound Issues
Headphones, left out, and right out all come through only in the left ear.
The output routing setting is equal. It's H.0, and if i change it to H.1 nothing happens when plugged into headphones. If on piano, it means i get no sound at all when plugged into left out, but still just left ear for right out. And if on organ nothing changes at all, all three outs output sound just in the left ear.
Also, if i pull the headphone jack out halfway, i get sound in both ears but it's diminished quality.

Could you try another set of headphones (and another 6.3 to 3.5 adapter if you're using one)? Sounds like the connection for the right channel in your headphones (or adapter) is open.

You need to listen very closely - the Electro 2 is whispering something to you:
"Replace me. I'm really old. It's time."
Once you do that, your headphone problems will vanish

I have a similar problem with earbuds on nearly every keyboard. It's likely that your adapter is bad or just the wrong type.

As above if you're using a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter it's most likely that.
I still really like the NE2, there was something about the immediacy that appealed. Might also be nostalgia of first proper performance keyboard I owned.

Hmmm.. My headphones and adapter have always worked perfectly fine on anything else. I had this issue with a different adapter too. It's a mystery!! The pops in both ears when it turns on really throws me.

The pop contains high frequency signal information, so it might couple across the capacitance between parts not physically connected to each other.
