I will challenge the other responders to talk to Nogor about the most economical amplification he can get and hope for decent quality. Those of you with multiple key boards, think back to leaner days and see if you have any thoughts.

As stated previously, Nogor, your amp - or small pa, which is what I would suggest - is a critical part of your decision. If that is already settled for you, tell us about it.

UPDATED: After having the nord electro 2 for few months I wasn't too pleased with it. Found a really good deal, (800€) for a Nord electro 3 HP and sold the 2 for 600€. Had just saved some money so the timing was perfect financially.
I was really pleased with the piano sounds, effects and, sampler, epianos, 3 different organs of the 3 HP. The sound-changing process is very easy!

Should have probably bought the 3 HP at first place. Nevertheless i don't regret getting the electro 2. It helped me to recognize my need for real hammer-action keyboard.

Thank you.
We currently have small all in-one 6" pa system with our little band. It's the JBL EON206P. I think the sound does work with organs and instruments without important high-range.With piano sounds It doesn't work too well . We have them sat up pretty weirdly in the practicing room tho. I don't know if we should invest for bigger pa set or some kind of monitors for me.

It is tricky to get the acoustic piano sounds which are available for the E3 or E4 to work with a single speaker, or with a Mono PA (whether or not the "Mono" button on the E3/E4 has been pressed). Some of the AP sounds which sound great in stereo end up sounding quirky in the octave immediately below middle C, when used with a single speaker. A couple of the newest upright AP sounds work ok in the midrange, but did not have a robust enough low end to satisfy me. For me, the Royal Grand works extremely well at home or for solo work when used with a single speaker - the only down side is that I have not found a way to make it "cut" in our 7-piece covers band. By "cut", I mean enable it to be heard without getting in the way of the other instruments. So if you are running in Mono with your PA, or using only a single speaker for amplification, I suggest you try the Royal Grand. (I use the "L" size in my E3, and still have room for the Nefertiti EP, Amped Wurli, and Clav).

Many on this forum have praised the most recently published "White Grand" as Nord's best AP sound ever, and have said it works very well in mono as well. We E3/E4 owners can't use the "White Grand" (it works on the E5, E6 and various Stage models), so I am just mentioning here for reference.

Thanks! I'll check that out when I'm back at the camp! :keyboard2:

I'm not technically a "real" keyboard player, so grain of salt and all that, but I bought a Nord Electro 2 to use to play in a blues band, and I'm perfectly happy with the action, and actually even the piano sounds, too.

Cheers

My first Nord keyboard was an Electro 2. Then I bought an Electro 3HP and loved the keyboard (I have a Fender-Rhodes Stage 73 that I don't carry anymore). The 3HP is my main gigging board and is well worn in. When the 6HP came out, I bought one for permanent installation in my studio (so the 3HP is always packed and ready). I was at first very surprised at how 'tight' the action was compared to the 3HP. It has loosened up considerably over the last year and a half, but still tighter than the 10 year old 3HP. Both are great and I sold the Electro 2 about 5 years ago as I never used it.
