Nord Electro 2 - any good piano patches yet?

Postby misterioso » 29 Jul 2011, 17:09

Hi,

I am new to this forum.
I am in a rush - have a gig tomorrow - trio - never have liked the piano sounds on this thing for jazz.
I have had the Electro 2 for about 6 years. I have never ever downloaded new sounds, etc...
Can someone tell me - or point me in the direction of how to that - but more importantly:
ARE THERE NEW GREAT PIANO SOUNDS that I can download now? If yes...

Can someone clearly tell me what to do?

I don't use the organ sounds at all so far.
I'd love to set up my Electro so it was this simple:
First button: best piano sound for jazz
Second button: most useful Wurlitzer sound
Third button: most useful Rhodes sound
Not much time before tomorrow - any help appreciated. I'd search and scan on this board and elsewhere - but really just need some people to say "do this" - as time is of the essence.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Hello misterioso,
Welcome to the forum!

I'm sorry, but no.
There have only been minimal improvements to the acoustic piano sounds that are compatible with the Electro 2.
Not enough improvement to call them GREAT, or even GOOD.

Not that this helps, but it would be a good time to upgrade to the Electro 3 HP.

Cheers, Hanon

Hello Misterioso.

As hanon said, there has not been great improvements on the pianos. But if you haven't updated it in the last 6 years, I think there was made a couple of slightly better piano sounds.

Check out this link: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?t ... _Libraries
The two top piano sounds are the newest. (C7 Conservatory Grand and Steinway D)

You might need to update the Electro's OS first from here: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?t ... &osdwn=osw
BUT REMEMBER THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS VISTA 64-bit OR WINDOWS 7 64-bit. But it should work with Vista 32 bit or 7 32 bit

and install the Electro tool and driver so that you can rearange the sounds. You need both a USB caple and a midi in/out for you computer.

It's not really that great of an improvement, but you can decide if you think it's worth the trouble.

Hope it helps.

Best regards.
Cbas
