Hey I'm not familiar with Nord's product release tendencies, seems like were pretty deep into the product cycle of the NE6D, anyone heard new release plans for NE7D? Was about to pull the trigger on a NE6D but didn't want to get it right before the new board comes out.

First of all: Welcome to the family!

Nord doesn't lance insider info on any known channel, so there isn't any special knowledge around. Questions like yours pop up right often as Nords aren't low budget instruments and people want to be happy with them for quite some time.

The idea is not bad that there might be a new NE7D around, but if you see a NE7D wish list still growing on the forum, it obviously isn't awaited as getting on the market within the next days.

When I wanted to buy a NS3, the product was 3 years old and I was asking the same question as you - but more than one year later, there isn't a newer model in sight and I'm happy I already have it.

Last point: If you search the forum, you'll find that quite often, there were issues with the new instruments in the first months. Mostly software bugs, sometimes even hardware things. So what sort of beef do you want to eat?

If you don't miss anything important on the NE6D, why not get one? Your investment won't be lost within a moment if any day a newer model gets on the market - used Nords seem to sell quite for a while.

It would be nice if in the case of threads about hypothetic, rumored, leaked products, the thread title clearly stated it.
Otherwise, the forum gets cluttered by topics which may confuse readers into thinking they are about real products.

One indicator you might wanna look out for, is the price of the NE6 dropping just before the release of the NE7. Music shops usually will know the new product is coming and want to sell their stock of current product before the new gets released.

Or go for the E6, or even the E5. That they're both great keyboards won't change with the release of a 7.

Their price will probably drop though, so in any case if the OP is not in a desperate need for a new keyboard maybe it is worth waiting a little bit.

It seems new Electro models have tended to be rolled out in three year cycles:

Electro 3 2009
Electro 4 2012
Electro 5 2015
Electro 6 2018

So, should we expect an Electro 7 in 2021? Welcome thoughts.
