Dear community,
a few days ago I bought a new NE6.
reason: the transportation of my NS2 including the accessories is meanwhile almost unmanagable for me (much to heavy).
I'm in the lucky situation to have both machines side by side for transition.
When I was going to tweak the sounds on the NE6 to have it in the same 'quality' as on my NS2 I realized,
that sounds with the same names do not sound the same.
For example my most used sound on the NS2 the EP1 MK I, sounds full, deep, silky, warm,.....
when you play soft you can hear the gentle bells in the highs - i love it
The same EP1 MK I on the NE6 is shallow, dull, weak,...
and when you play soft, the bells in the highs sounds aggressiv.
I tried everything to get the sound on the NE6 acceptable - but failed.
How is ist possible, that the piano-sample out of the same lib sounds so different on different machines?
I didn't expect this.
The forum said, that it is not possible to transfer programs between different machines, is there another possibility to transfer a tweaked sample/'the sound'?
i'm desperate because I want to keep the NE6, but without my most needed sounds I can't switch to it.
Yes, I read both FM, I got through this forum but I couldn't find a solution to my problem.
So I would be very very happy if you have any suggestions which could help me.
Thank you very much in advance!
atb Dieter

Re: need a sound transferred from my NE2 into my NE6
If weight and size are you main problems with the NS2 you already have, I have to assume that it's probably an 88-note model, yes? Or perhaps 76? Why not get an NS2-SW73 or NS2EX-SW73? You will have the same instrument, your data will load, it will be smaller and lighter (same at NE6D-SW73), and you won't have to reprogram anything...
Have you replicated the F/X, EQ, reverb, compression settings from the NS2 program to the NE6 program?
Bless, Pablo

Hi Dieter,
how are you auditioning/comparing the two keybards i.e. I assume using the same headphone/speakers/cables but I would like to be sure that's the case, to exclude external causes.
Having said that, you should first compare the bare samples (no Fx/Eq) and even with that it is still possible that the analog audio output stage of the two keybaords is different and can result in some sound difference.
If weight is the issue, but you want a hammer action keyboard, have you considered the NS2EX HP76 as an alternative?

@Pablo
@maxpiano
thank you for your answers
Yes, weight was the main reason why i bought the electro 6.
The second reason was, that i'm no poweruser and the NS2 always was demanded much too little from me. for instance i never used the synth, except the samples.
i must admit that i never considered to buy a second hand NS2-SW73 - now its too late but it would have been a good alternative; particularly the soundtransfer would have been no problem....
Finally I am very happy with my NE6 because luckily i could solve the "sound-transfer issue".
Because i didn't get answers to my question i had to try to solve the sound-tweak on my own.
Many trys - many failures, but finally (you both gave me the answer now) I realized, that i had to start from scratch. which means:
program init -> no effects, no Equalizer, no nothing.
Having started with these settings, spending much time, rotating every knob, pushing each button, combining everything with everything
i finally could rebuild all my old sounds very close. some are even better sounding than "my originals"
the best thing of all: i now know how my NE6 works and i'm very familiar with it
thank you guys!

Hi WonkoDV,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the best part of manually going through the programming work is that when you are done you will have learned the instrument!
bless, pablo
