Somebody knows if with and future update we Will can use NE6 like a controller with split?? Like Nord Electro 5? I dont know why they downgrade that option...
I would like to upgrade to NE6 but for me is The new Nord Electro 4.7 without that option.

I think it's gone because the NE5 implementation was designed around an architecture of there being a lower part and an upper part, and it would have to be implemented entirely differently on a keyboard that operates instead around the idea of a piano part, an organ part, and a synth part. (The Stage series gets around it by adding a whole separate EXT part, but since the knobs aren't there, that's not an approach that can be implemented in an NE6 software update.) My idea would be that they could do it by assigning separate MIDI channels to each of the three parts. Then, for example, you could use your "piano part" as an external MIDI part, and if you don't want the piano to sound, you just turn off its own volume.

I'm a little confused by what people are saying regarding the difference between E5 and E6 in terms of external keyboard use. I was under the impression that the E6 had the Extern mode. See performance features under spec from website...

I think you're referring to this line:

External keyboard feature: Freely assign sound engines to be controlled by an external keyboard, while others are played from the Nord Electro 6.

That's about using an external keyboard to trigger a Nord sound. And the NE5 similarly allowed you to play one sound engine from an external keyboard, while another was played from the Nord's own keys (but you were limited to one sound on the Nord itself, whereas on the 6, it can be two sounds, one from each of the unused engines).

But what we're talking about is the reverse. We're not talking about allowing an external keyboard to be used as a controller for the Nord sounds, rather we're talking about allowing the Nord keyboard to be used as a controller for other, external sounds (similar to the EXT section of a Stage, which again is about the Nord triggering external sound, not about external controllers triggering Nord sounds). The Electro 5 allowed you to trigger an external sound in its "upper" part (alone or layered with a Nord sound), while simultaneously playing another Nord sound in its "lower" part. So you could be playing a Nord piano/organ/synth on the lower half of he keyboard, while playing an external sound (from a rack module, iPad, tabletop synth, whatever) on the top half of the keyboard. That capability of mixing and matching internal and external sounds (all played from the Electro's own keys) is what is gone from the 6.

Of course that would be the best option... my wish for my live setup. I'm trying to scream it to the sky...Nord...hear us!
