Hi there,
Anyone else run into this problem?... I've split the keyboard using the External KBD to Lo function, using my Stage 2 as a controller. I've plugged an expression pedal into the Stage 2 and it's acting as a volume pedal over everything assigned to the "Lo" keyboard (global - all patches), even if I have not activated the "CTRLPED" light and function. I would like to use the CTRLPED function as intended, using it for some but not all sounds on a patch by patch basis.
Is this a bug?..
NE6 External Kbd... control pedal always on?

"CTRL Ped light and function" is for the internal morph of NS2, nothing to do with the fact it is sent or not over MIDI.
How have you configured your setup from a MIDI standpoint? Are you using the Extern section on your NS2 (OK, as you can fully configure it, including sending or not the CTRL Ped ) or the Global channel (not OK), to control the NE6?
Which channel is set on NE6 for ExternalToLo?
Take a look at the manual and/or The Nord Stage MIDI Tutorial to learn how to use NS2 Extern section to properly use it as a master for external synths

Re: NE6 External Kbd... control pedal always on?
Appreciate your response.
While I often use my Stage 2 for shows around town, unfortunately I don't always have control over what weighted keyboard is provided as backline when I'm touring. Sometimes it's a Nord, sometimes it's a Yamaha. So configuring the Stage 2 specifically doesn't really change the nature of the problem which is that the "CTRLPED" buttons on the NE6D apparently don't work if the sound engine is assigned to LO.
It's disappointing that this isn't addressed or referenced in the NE6 manual. All I can really find is that "all parameter controls for externally controlled sound engines are still accessible from the Nord Electro 6. This means that Organ drawbars, Piano settings etc. can be adjusted as usual"... doesn't exactly spell out these limitations. So for that reason I got in touch with Nord suggesting they either update their manual to reflect the specific functionality/limitations of the LO KBD, or release an OS update that expands the current limited functionality. They got back to me and apparently they have a solution or workaround... will update.

Re: NE6 External Kbd... control pedal always on?
Just to chime in on this. Here are my findings:
Expression pedal connected to external keyboard ONLY the Organ section will be affected when set to EXT KBD LO. All other sections do not respond to the external pedal
Internal Expression pedal will control the Organ being played buy the external keyboard if it is enabled
Internal or External Expression pedal has no effect on the other sections when they are set to EXT KBD LO even if the CTRPED is enabled
Internal Sustain pedal has no effect on the other sections when they are set to EXT KBD LO even if the SUSTPED is enabled
All very irritating - means I have to carry 2 sets of pedals around.
