NE3 - Sample Editor Q's

Hey Nord forum!

Recently, a friend lent me their NE3 and I've been deep into playing and researching ever since.
Trying to decide if I buy this one or a newer version.

I love the concept of using the sample editor to upload my favourite sounds onto the instrument, but I just can't get it to work.
I've put wav files into the editor and successfully created the .nsmp file (NSMP2 which the manual says is compatible with NE3).

However, every time I upload it to the sample library on the NE3, it says that 'one or more samples are unsupported. Please replace those samples or update the OS in your nord unit'.

I'm at the latest OS update for the NE3.
I tried removing all the 48 Hz sample rate files, leaving 44.1Hz, it didn't work.
Haven't been able to get it to work!

Any ideas on whether I can get this to work, or whether I'd need to upgrade to a different Nord (Maybe a NE5?)?
Is there a filetype requirement for the wav that I have missed?

Hi,

which version of Nord's Sample Editor do you use, and have you tried to load the sample to the NE3 directly from Sample Editor or did you do it with the most recent version of Nord's Sound Manager?

I assume there is enough free memory in the NE3 sample memory for the new sample file?

I'm using Sample Editor 4.
I did download and try Sample Editor 2 initially, but it kept crashing.
The Sample Editor 4 manual mentioned the Electro 3 in the filetype section - so I thought that meant it was compatible, is this correct?

It didn't work transferring the sample directly from the sample editor to the Nord, so I did it with the most recent version of the Sound Manager.

And yep! Enough memory space. It actually does transfers the track to the Nord, the number just flashes on the screen and the sample library gives the error code underneath.

I think that Sample Editor 4 should create .nsmp2 samples without any problems, but who knows ... you might try Sample Editor 3 to create the sample once again, I haven't had any problem with both Sample Editor 2 and 3 in the past when creating .nsmp2 samples for my Stage 2. I saw that Sample Editor 3 is no longer available for download from the Nord Website, if you don't have it available just drop me a PM if you like and I will provide you a download link - are you on Windows or MacOS?

I did some search and found that the download link is still alive for Sample Editor 3, but not accessible from Nord's web page directly. If you like to try Sample Editor 3 you can get it from here:

Seems as if there is a kind of bug in Sample Editor 4 when creating samples in the original .nsmp format ....

I have generated .nsmp's and downloaded them to my NE3 73 with success using Sample Editor 4, so there must be something fishy with the project? What NE3 OS version are you using?
