MIDI setting on NE 5D 73
MIDI setting on NE 5D 73
HI, I'm starting to buy a NE 5D, and I studied the Manual for first. In the MIDI settings I did not find the possibility to set different midi channels for the 2 parts Lower and Upper. It is possible or not?
Thanks for help and explanation.

You can set the receive channel for the Upper and Lower parts separately, see the MIDI section of the manual.
You can also tell the Electro 5 to send MIDI data either globally or only for the Upper part, and choose suitable channels for that.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Maurus but I want to know if transmitting channels can be set separately for the 2 parte Upper and Lower.

Edit after seeing Pablo's post below (thanks for the correction!): If I understand the manual correctly that is possible, using the "global" channel for the Lower part and a separate channel for the Upper part.

As stated above, it is possible to set the Upper Part to transmit on a channel other than Global. The Lower Part will transmit only on Global. So, yes, transmitting channels can be set separately.

Hello Nord "Family"
New owner "to be" (waiting delivery next week) of a Nord Product - Electro 5D-73.
As an added question about midi, (and forgive me as I am not sure this question belongs in this string or not) On the N 5d-73, is it possible to get to a DAW running vsti's , and assign the midi channels to get to the vsti and save them as part of the song list function? In other words, say set 1, song 1-4 is sounds off the N 5d-73, however song 5 & 6 you want ONLY to use the N 5d-73 as a controller ( midi out) to the Daw but in song mode assign the midi channels and save them so it can be just recalled via the song placement in the set ?

Re: MIDI setting on NE 5D 73
Hi Chap,
Midi channel settings are global and not storable parameters on a per-program basis. It is possible, however, to turn off volume of Nord when you wish to hear only vst sound. As for muting the vst when you wish to hear only Nord...I guess that's between you and your vst.
Bless,
Pablo
