Good morning chaps,
I'm thinking about following Rusty Mike's recent advice and picking-up a tube pre-amp to 'warm' the digital sound of my NE3.
However, it appears that this particular pre-amp is mono only, so I'm a little concerned about potentially losing some tonal quality.
While I know that Nord's acoustic piano sounds are obviously stereo, I'm not so sure about the EPs...from recent memory, selecting the 'Mono' function after selecting an EP does not appear to change the character of the sound - at least, not to the same extent as an acoustic piano patch.
Any thoughts on this topic? The pre-amp isn't terribly expensive, however I'm a little reluctant to spend money on a unit that I may never use.
Cheers,
James

My mind says Kawai, but my heart says Nord.

No.The Eps. are not in stereo. However the acoustic pianos are.If you are using them live you would usual'y turn the piano mono anyway.(Unless a classical performance)

And it makes sense that EPs would be mono, because the original instruments (Rhodes, Wurli) were mono... though they can have stereo fx.

I believe the Electro uses the effects to create a derived stereo such as when you use, chorus, flanging, ping pong, etc.
I guess it would depend on whether you use one or two amps.

This is what I do when I play Electric piano's in headphones.I turn the delay tempo and amount full.set mode to pingpong and feedback to 0.This creates a stereo effect but does create a few milliseconds of delay , not terrible though.
