Is there a midi controller I can assign to the rotary button
I would like to be able to engage and disengage the rotary speaker from my Alesis Vortex 2 remote controller. I have one solo that I play during a song where I am using the Vortex. Can I engage the Leslie effect with a midi control?

The back of the Electro manual should list which MIDI CC controls rotary speed change. If you can program a button on your Alesis to send that MIDI CC, it should do what you want.

CC number for Rotary Speed is probably 82
I Assume you are using an Electro 4?
Do you want Rotary Speaker On/Off or do you want to control Rotary SPEED Slow/Fast?
According to a list that someone shared here (could not find the thread), at least for Electro 3 and 5 the Rotary Speed MIDI CC is 82. Rotor PEDAL CC on Electro 5 is 90 (possibly gets different results, depending on the type of controller). Spkr/Comp Enable is 86.
Does the Electro recieve MIDI CC?

Correct.

Well, when I pull up patch 51, the green light is on, and when I press the button the speed gets faster and the light turns red, so I will say speed up and slow down.

I will try that tomorrow. I should be able to assign a button, or maybe the ribbon, on the Vortex to send and receive whatever controller I want.
All this for one 16 bar solo on one song where I want to come down from behind the stack and join the horn line.

There is a MIDI parameter that enables that and program change.
Thanks!!
