Re: Help with custom electro 3
Hey Man,
LOVE the new look! I have been thinking of doing something like this for some time. I'm curious what kind of spray paint did you use? Is it holding up well? Also, I'm thinking I would paint over the Nord Logos on the front. Until I get an endorsement I think I'll stop advertising for them. I like the Idea of rolling to a gig with a mystery black box.

Hey Man,
LOVE this look. What Kind of Spray Paint did you use? How is it holding up? I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time, but I gig all the time and tour and I'm afraid that my custom paint job wouldn't hold up for very long unless I got the right kind of spray paint. I also think I'm going to cover up the logos. I like the Idea of rolling to a gig with a mystery black box.

Re: Help with custom electro 3
I know this is an old thred but I thought I'd share with you all my customised Electro 5D.
I wanted this to be reversible in case I sell the keyboard later. I made my own end cheeks from wood, and used a black vinyl decal sticker to cover the red and the logo. The wood ends are a bit rough, but I like this! I still have the old wood ends and also the decal easily peeks off. Hopefully it will stay in place. I have a gig tonight, looking forward to road-testing it!
I'm pleased with the overall effect so far. I have something planned for the screen too, and will upload if it works out. Hope you guys like!

Very nice! I'm having the same idea of doing this customisation. I have a new set of wooden panels (the current are a little damaged). But I could wrap those too with wood wrap.ACCORDIONMAN wrote:I know this is an old thred but I thought I'd share with you all my customised Electro 5D.

Re: Help with custom electro 3
So my thoughts after the gig.
The vinyl is quite delicate, will be quite easy to damage if you are not careful. I may double up with another layer as I have plenty of vinyl left and it was quite easy to cut.
Also, there is still a slight smell of wood stain from the wood ends! I know this will disappear, but stain your wood ends with an 'odourless' stain for better results.
Overall though, I love it. Looked great on stage, felt good to play.
