Help! New to Nord need help with NE5 Sample loading

Postby JayDee » 19 Dec 2017, 05:59

Hello. I am not too technically savvy and fairly new to keyboards as well. I just got a Nord Electro 5 61. I tried loading a sample into the NE 5 after installing the Sound manager. I was able to load the Nefertiti EP into the Piano tab, but when I tried loading the Orchestral sample it wouldn't drag and drop into sample library tab of the sound manager, it showed the prohibited sign (circle with cross through it). I just got this keyboard and i am really hoping i don't have to send it back and perhaps i am overlooking something. Can anyone suggest what i may be doing wrong? Thank you for any suggestions.

I talked to Pablo and he fixed my issue. Darn, that guy is exceptional at technical support. Nord rocks. THANK YOU PABLO!

The keyboard is set to not be able to change as default, so that it's a conscious decision to start fiddling.
Go into the System menu (shift+System) and find the Memory protection (turn list/value) and change to off (shift+list/value).
Press System without shift to exit the menu.
Now You can change stuff.

Remember to store all settings in a Program first and then make a song in the setlist that refers to this Program. Changes then can be done in a song but are stored in the Program. If necessary you can have 4 different Programs (A-D) per song.

The very first thing the manual tells you is to turn off memory protection.

If you haven’t read the manual AT ALL, it’s easy to mess stuff up without knowing what happened.
