Hi everyone, does anyone have experience checking in the electro HP 73 key (4 5 or 6, point being size), and did you need to pay an oversized fee? I want to fly with it on British airways with this case https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... board-case
I would like to hear any of your experiences flying with it. Is anyone familiar with British airways? Website States 35.5 x 29.5 x 16 = 81 inches, and the case is 50 x 21.5 x 9 = 80.5 inches. Does it need to be maximum 35.5 etc, or is it just 81 inches all around in total?
All replies would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about BA oversized baggage, but I assume you can do it for a fee.
Does the E6 have a wide range power supply? Have you checked you can operate a US purchased board with 230-240V / 50Hz?

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll look into that. I do have a step down converter that supports up to 50w, so if I do need an adapter it should do the trick.

Pianolin. If you've got time would you mind posting a photograph of your Nord Electro 6HP in this Gator GTSA-KEY61 TSA Series Keyboard Case please ? I've just had a look and if you click on Full Editor underneath this window there are facilities to add an image file. It's just that I'm tempted to buy one. I've looked at the measurements but a picture might make my mind up. Thanks

Re: Flying with electro 6hp
I haven't purchased the Nord yet, however if you check Sweetwater's case finder for the 5hp or piano 2hp, this is the case that comes up. I already have the case for a different 61 key keyboard and theres still more room in the case and the keys don't go till the end because of the pitch and modulation wheels, so it makes sense the 73hp would fit.

Re: Flying with electro 6hp
Thanks Pianolin. I'll check that casefinder out. Another colleague on this forum told me about the Gator 61 case in the first place. The other alternative for me living in the UK is to have a flight case made by a company not far from me. The only disadvantage would be that the case would weigh nearly 15 kilos, somewhat more than the weigh of the keyboard on its own. Another alternative for me may be this one. It's not a flight case but it may by suitable for loading the piano into a car to take it out for a gig.

Re: Flying with electro 6hp
Hi Macko
I bought this bag for my NS3 HP
https://www.gear4music.com/Keyboards-an ... g-Bag/2I4W
It is great for travelling to/from rehearsals in my car, and are also used in our band trailer when gigging, just put it on the top. About the same protection as the original Nord Bag, but half the weight.
But thanks for the link to the Gator case, I have one of this laying around, and was not sure it would fit my keyboard. Time to dig it up from the closet, and test it.
The size limit for the lenght in British Airways might be because it should fit in the container they are using in the transport system, so it might have to been handled as special cargo.

Bjosko, Shows how I can miss things. I've looked at that Gear4Music website loads of times and never come up with that bag. Its the closest fit for the Nord Electro 6HP yet.
