European power cord for Nord Electro 3
I need a power cord suitable for Europe for my Nord Electro 3. What is the power cord that I need to buy? And will one cord work in all countries? I'll be going to Italy, Switzerland, France, Begium and the Netherlands. Any info is appreciated!

Re: European power cord for Nord Electro 3
Maybe you would be better using your existing power cord, and just buying a plug adapter. AFAIK, all the countries you mention have the same or a similar electrical supply, so just get a US to Europe plug converter. Should be under $10.

Getting a standard "figure-8" cable at a hardware store once you arrive should be under €5.
Will work in Italy, France, Belgium and NL. Not sure about Switzerland.

Here's a good overview of worldwide plugs, sockets and voltages:

Re: European power cord for Nord Electro 3
Useful link Arjan! thx. I don't know about the Electro 3 specifically, but some older gear has to have it's PSU switched to the correct voltage - this may require opening the cover. Don't plug your 110v keyboard into a 240v power supply without checking first! The best case is that the internal fuse will blow, worst case is you kill your keyboard.
hopefully someone who actually knows your 'board will tell you what you need to do... I know some modern gear is more tolerant of voltage so apologies if I am being unnecessarily alarmist

Hi SBFW,
Finding the cable will not be too hard, but it is likely that you will quickly smell something ugly after connecting your 115v instrument to 230v power. There's more to it than swapping out a power cord. Please contact me via my regular work contacts to discuss this in greater detail.
Bless,
Pablo

Re: European power cord for Nord Electro 3
Thanks everyone! This all helps a lot. And yes, I do know that with the Nord Electro you open up the top and change the voltage. And yes, I'll be brining plenty of fuses.

For reference purposes:
115v operation = 300mA fuse
230v operation = 125mA fuse

Hi Pablo,
Is this the correct fuse for a Nord Electro 3 U.S. version?
Thank you,
Jason

Re: European power cord for Nord Electro 3
No, it is not. The link refers to a fast blow fuse. Nord spec is slo-blo.
