So it's basically like a quick go-to in the event that something unexpected arose of which you did not have time to prepare for.

LewTheKeysGuy wrote:Don't worry about live mode, trust me on this, from a time served nord user, live mode is only if you're gigging and want instant access to particular patches with settings, etc, so don't worry about it. I don't use it at all. I just use a boss fs6 dual switch to navigate between programs, etc, I organise my workflow through Nord Sound Manager so that it's more comfortable for my needs. you'll find this yourself that it's a scalable, adaptable instrument. In laymans terms, it's a mellotron with extras, as it's basically a sampler keyboard with an open framework for nearly everything.

So I load the base setting, and tweak it to the room and the band, and store it to a live location. Then I know it's there all evening, and I can tweak it a bit as I play, change to another live setting and then come back to the previous ones. I may not need those particular settings other than for that gig, and live mode is useful for this (for me).

The live mode is always saved in the state it was left (without having to "Store" the sound). Of course you could save that into a different (non-Live mode) location. So if you have a really nice sound in Live mode that you want to keep, better to store it elsewhere in a permanent location, because as soon as you tweak it, you won't be able to come back to it (unless you undo by hand the tweaks, of course).

Thanks baekgaard,
For instance, you may just attenuate the reverb and/or EQ as a one-of, exclusively for that particular venue.
From then on, I supposed you could even save them to a more permanent location when you get home if you play at that venue on a regular basis?
