2.When using a layer (piano/strings for ex.) can you have different eq settings for each of the parts ?

1.probably some mainboard integrated circuit (or other components) has changed and they had to adapt the operating system to work with both older and newer NE5 motherboards. Nothing to worry about.
2. No, according to the manual (...) the EQ can be set to LO+UP, but it is a single unit (like all other effects)
