Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
Hi, I'm getting this message when starting the E5, just before the OS (1.30) starts loading. I cannot do anything except press EXIT. After this, everything seems ok except it's not. Playing is a disaster, with effects switching on and off, octaves downshifting, parts getting muted and unmuted, drawbar settings vanishing, all of this at random.
Is there any way to solve this without having to send it in repair? Is there a usable procedure to calibrate the keyboard? It's out of warranty anyway.
Thanks for any suggestion.

Re: Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
Hi Wallhara, I'm sorry that you are having these problems with your NE5. The Calibration issue is almost certainly a minor issue which can be cleared by unseating and reseating the calibration cable. However, the other symptoms you relate are a sign that there is a hardware issue which will need to be looked at by a pro repair person.
Is there a possibility that there may have been a drink spill?
Bless, Pablo

Re: Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
Hi Pablo and thanks for your answer. I am positive there never was any liquid spill. The instrument worked fine until the last few weeks.
However, I believe the problem must actually have something to do with the keyboard, because I am also using a 2nd controller keyboard to play the E5's sounds in splits and nothing happens when playing from that controller. While playing the E5's keyboard almost immediately triggers any one of the errors I listed.

Re: Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
this is still very curious...the front panel buttons, knobs and lights are controlled by circuitry which is not shared with key-related circuitry, so I am still inclined that they are unrelated, but of course the ultimate determination will be made by the tech who is examining the instrument

Re: Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
Usually if symptoms point to multiple areas and seem mysterious, it ends up being power supply related.
This is pretty much true with any kind of electronics.

Thanks. jfenton, do you think there is any checking / repairing / replacing procedure or guide for the power supply?

Re: Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
Since I assume your NE5 is still under warranty, if I were you I'd contact the official Italian support for Nord (Mogar Music) and ask for the nearest authorized Service Center

Re: Electro 5 "Keyboard Calibration Failure"
I'm having the same issue as wallhara re: parameters randomly changing when playing. If I don't touch the keyboard, nothing happens. If I'm playing, it's as if I press a random button on the face of the keyboard every couple seconds.
I've also seen the "Calibration Failure", but it doesn't happen frequently. I did the Factory Restore and the issue still persists. Any suggestions?
