Electro 5 ignores CC #11 ( expression ) on midi in
Hi All
Maybe this has been covered before, but it appears that the Electro 5 does not recognize CC 11 on midi input.
It does recognize other CCs including sustain ( 64 ) and volume ( 7 ).
I am pretty sure I have it configured correctly in midi config.
Anyone know why this is? Is it a bug? Can't find anything about it in the manual.

The Midi Controller chart at the rear of the manual lists cc11. What midi settings are you using? What device are you using to transmit cc#11?

Also, are you playing a program that is sensitive to cc11?

Re: Electro 5 ignores CC #11 ( expression ) on midi in
Hello
I have a B3 patch on the Electro. I am using a controller keyboard that transmits CC#11 with the pedal on channel 1 ( I verified with a midi monitor ).
If I switch the pedal to transmit CC#7 to the Electro - the volume changes as it should. But if I transmit CC#11 it is ignored. Sustain ( CC#64 ) also works fine. If I plug the expression pedal in to the back of the Electro it works fine. So it appears CC#11 is not recognized for midi in even though the manual says it is. The electro does transmit CC#11 with the expression pedal.
The midi settings I have - global channel set to 1 - upper and lower set to channel 1 - split set to channel 1.
Can someone try to duplicate this? Looks like a bug to me.
Thanks

Quick update on this. The expression midi input is recognized for effects. So for a clav patch - if I use the wah effect, the CC#11 is works for that. Or if I used a piano patch and enable the CTRL pedal input - the volume changes as it should. It appears to be just the organ that ignores the CC#11.

Re: Electro 5 ignores CC #11 ( expression ) on midi in
Final update. I solved this problem. Took some digging as it is not in the Electro 5 documentation. I looked in the Stage 2 manual and found that the organ in NS2 uses CC#4 as organ swell - not CC#11. CC#4 is Electro 5 B3 model uses as well. CC#11 is ignored. This is missing from the Electro 5 doc - would be good to have it added to the midi implementation chart.
I switched the controller pedal to use CC#4 and it now works as expected.
Thanks

I had a similar problem with a Nord Stage.
Do you have a "Control Pedal Use as Swell" option in the Electro? If yes, try to set it to NO.
