Electro 4D: Relationship of Piano Samples to Organ Programs?
Greetings. I want to remove some NE4D factory piano samples to make room for a Royal Grand 3D. In Sound Manager, the Studio Grand 2 YaC7 Med 5.3 is listed as the Piano Library source on 20 organ programs: B3, Vx and Farf. If I remove that piano sample, do I loose these organ programs? A more fundamental question: where do the real organ samples live? I'm pretty sure they're not contained in this Studio Grand 2 piano sample, although I sure could be wrong. On other organ programs (B3, Vx and Farf), other Piano Library samples (that have nothing to do with organs) are listed as the source. Something is funny here, and until I understand how this B3 organ/Piano Library source sample relationship works on the 4D, I don't want to remove any samples. I use the 4D mostly for Hammond work. I've read through the 4D manual, and have searched the forums for info, unsuccessfully. Many thanks for any help with this.

Removing piano samples will not affect any organ sounds.
The reason an organ program has a piano sound is so you can call up an organ sound, and manually switch the Electro from organ to piano, and know which piano will play in that instance. If you're using organ programs just for organ, you don't have worry about the piano parts of those programs.

On Nord Electros there are no organ samples (but see below). The instrument emulates the sounds of the various instruments (Hammond, Farfisa, Vox).
Ofcourse organ samples can exist in the sample section, and this is done for instance with the pipe organ.

As stated, the organs are not sampled, but modeled. The models "live" in the OS.
