Electro 3 presets question
Electro 3 presets question
Hi, I have downloaded the factory presets on my Electro 3. One of these, 51A, I use a lot. Just for fun, and to familiarize myself more with the instrument, I tried to duplicate the settings for 51A in another preset position. I tried doing this in position 1A, but the sound comes out completely different. One photo shows the factory settings for 51A, the other shows my attempt to duplicate the settings in position 1A. It is probably something simple, but I would be grateful if you could help me understand why these two apparently identical presets sound different. Thank you

Re: Electro 3 presets question
As I understand it:
Saving a program includes encoding the positions of the knobs. When you activate a program, the Nord uses the saved knob position settings not the actual physical knob settings. If you adjust a knob when a program is active, that knob's physical position temporarily overrides the saved value to allow you to make adjustments from the saved program's starting point.
Since, to my knowledge, there's no way on the Electro of viewing the knob settings (although I believe something exists for the Stage - https://ns3-program-viewer.cyclic.app/). So, for you to match knob settings on an Electro requires guesswork and experimentation.

I wonder if using Nord Sound Manager "organize" function you could just move or copy 51.A over 1.A instead of duplicating the settings manually, have you tried that?

Re: Electro 3 presets question
Apparently the effects settings are not the same that's why the sound is different. There is no way to see those exact parametres but you have two very simple options: 1. go to the program 51A, press shift + store button (store as) and then select program 1A, hit store again and the 1A will be replaced. You will now have this sound in both programs. 2. connect to a computer with USB, open sound manager and swap those two programs.

I think you are right about the knob positions, I hadn't taken that into consideration. Thanks for responding.pterm wrote:As I understand it:

I think you are right about the effects settings. I was just experimenting, but I will use your suggestions for moving different sounds into different preset positions. Thanks for responding!alex78 wrote:Apparently the effects settings are not the same that's why the sound is different.
