Electro 3 and Nord Sound Manager
Hey folks,
I got a new computer, running windows 10, and installed the Sound Manager v7.54 but when I go to open the program it says "Please connect your Nord instrument to the USB port".
I have an Electro 3 and I'm running the current/last OS 3.14. I've checked my USB connections, and restarted the computer, but I'm not having any luck.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

Have you installed the Clavia USB drivers?

Re: Electro 3 and Nord Sound Manager
Hi, John. Thanks for the reply.
I am currently running OS 3.14 on the Nord, but in trying to update I still get a message saying "Please connect your Nord Electro 3 to the USB port".
It seems the problem is with my computer.

OK so you have installed Clavia latest USB Drivers, correct? If so then, maybe a trivial question, have you tried with different USB cables and/or ports on your computer?vortmaxx wrote:Hi, John. Thanks for the reply.

Hi vortmaxx,
if I understand JohnT‘s answer right, he talks about clavia‘s USB driver for the PC. If you have a look at the linked webpage, it seems as if Windows 10 is a bit problematic in this aspect.
Cheers from Germany

Re: Electro 3 and Nord Sound Manager
I've tried all the USB ports. I only have the one cable, but I use it pretty regularly with an audio interface when recording and haven't had any issues.maxpiano wrote: OK so you have installed Clavia latest USB Drivers, correct? I guess I'm on a quest now to track down another cable...
Thanks for the reply.

Re: Electro 3 and Nord Sound Manager
You have not said if you installed the USB driver! I'm not talking about the OS version.

My bad- I did forget about the USB driver and didn't see it at the bottom. I have installed said driver, the wizard says installation was successful, and I've restarted the computer, but I still get the same message when trying to open the Sound Manager.
I'm going to pick up another cable anyway, but I think the problem is with my computer.

Re: Electro 3 and Nord Sound Manager
Hmm, must be something else. I do remember that some time ago I had a situation (think it was with my NE3 as well) that the PC must have booted completely before my NE3 had to be switched on, and Soundmanager to be started as the last. I‘ve always thought that with newer Windows versions this isn‘t necessary anymore, but I mean who knows ... Maybe worthwhile one try?
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Electro 3 and Nord Sound Manager
I also have windows 10 and never encountered any connectivity issue. I suggest you try another cable.
