Does Nord Electro 5/6 have same piano sound and quality as Nord Grand (just without the better action)?

Hello, and welcome to the Forum! Yes, the Electro 5/6 and Nord Grand all use samples from the Nord Piano library. The Grand and Electro 6 both feature seamless transitions when changing programs which works great in performance. The additional memory in the Nord Grand will allow use of more high quality pianos, however from my experience (and many others), you'll tend to find a few you really like to use. To get the sound and quality in performance, you'll need to look into your speaker/monitor setup as well; the forum on Accessories and Amplification at accessories-and-amplification-f8/ has a lot of discussion on that. Good luck to you.

Thank you. Originally I was considering getting the Nord Grand but I think I would be better off getting a Kawai mp11 or mp11se for the superior action and as a controller and getting the nord electro 6 for the superior piano sound as well as organ and other keyboard sounds.

You're welcome! I can't speak to the quality of the Kawai action over the Electro, however if you go that direction you might want to consider getting an Electro with the waterfall keyboard for the organ feel. That said, if you purchased an Electro 5/6 88, you would have the option of keeping the Kawai at home from time to time. Take care.

If he can find an 88 keys version of Nord Electro 5/6 I'd want him to tell us where did he?!

One difference is that, unlike the Grand, the Electro does not support the triple pedal. I'm not sure whether using the triple pedal functions on the Kawai will work when controlling the Nord, at least directly. If not, some MIDI remapping addition might solve that, but it's nothing I've looked into.

Also, the triple sensor implementation could be an issue, check the thread at nord-piano-grand-forum-f10/nord-grand-with-triple-sensors-midi-implementation-t18954.html
