Hi Folks,
The strangest thing happened today....after about 20 minutes, the OLED display on my Electro 5D dimmed (not a lot, but enough so that as soon as I touched the volume knob, it sprang back to full brightness).
It did this twice. Everything plays (and sounds) perfectly normal.
Is this a power saving feature or a bug looking to make itself present???
Thanks in advance.
Tom

Power saving? I guess that it is screen-life saving... I doubt that the screen dimming causes any noticeable power saving.

Well, it is conventionally called a power saving feature But of course the main issue is extending the lifetime of the OLED -- by reducing the power burn in it. So yes, you're absolutely right about the main purpose of the feature.
