Trying to use a Korg EXP-2 pedal but when plugged in I get no sound in piano or synth and very low sound in organ mode but no control at all on Electro5D61. I just want to control volume.
Both control buttons are lit (upper, lower). Again, I'm new to this so could be something simple.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Control pedal?
Hi,
are you sure that it's the pedal causing it? Does the sound stop when you plug it in, or could it be an unrelated problem?
Please go to the "System" menu (SHIFT + A) page 5. Here you have to set the control pedal type.
On page 6 (Control pedal gain) there is an indicator that shows the sensed pedal position, but only when the pedal is moved. So you should see a number 0..100 % that tracks the pedal position and disappears after about one second when you stop moving the pedal. If this is true, your pedal works correctly.
Finally, you need to enable the control pedal for one (or both) of the voices. It's the right octave shift button (with SHIFT, "Control pedal"), make sure that the LED is lit.
The same works with the "control pedal" option for Wah in effects.

And I was worried - all the way down to the ground

Hi,
I've done all that you mention. As soon as I plug it into control pedal the sound cuts out.
Thanks,
Jim

Moving the pedal all the way up and down has no effect.
Thanks,

But you said that in the System menu you see the value going from 0 to 100% when you move it, right?
This is inconsistent, so sorry to ask: did you actually check this too?
PS: I am not sure this visualization of pedal % is available in the NE5 too, I am afraid that offrhodes was indicating the NS2 System menu items.
If you don't have such an option in the NE5 then you need to check the pedal electrically using a multimeter, to ensure the cable is OK and the resistance between Tip and Sleeve or Ring and Sleeve of the TRS jack is changing properly when you move the pedal.
PS2: I assume you have the latest OS loaded, if not try also to update the OS.

Hi,
the page number I gave is for the NE5 with firmware 1.42.

Re: Control pedal?
I have the same problem.
the tool stops making a sound as soon as I connect the control pedal.
buttons do not work.
Only slot A works in normal mode.
recently updated os.
nothing changed.

Re: Control pedal?
Using the Moog controller pedal, noticed that others have used it successfully but I'm getting nothing. Trying to get a wah wah effect for clavinet. Numbers briefly flash 0 in the gain screen. When I set it to CNTRLPED the sound does disappear.
