Compatibility Nord Keyboard/Music Stand Ex
Hi there. I’ve had a Nord Electro 5D 73 Key for a while, alongside the soft carrying case.
I’ve been looking into getting both the Nord Keyboard Stand Ex and the Nord Music Stand Ex,
As it’s implied they would fit in the soft case alongside my keyboard. However, whilst the
Nord site states both are compatible with the Nord Electro 5 HP, it doesn’t say anything about the 5D 73.
My question is A; are these stands compatible with a Nord electro 5D 73
And B; would they fit alongside it in a soft case?
Thanks

Reply to question A is “no” (hence the question B becomes not relevant)

Ah, damn. Well thanks at any rate! Any thoughts on some legs that might work with it that would fit in the case?

Afaik there are none that would fit the relatively small bag of the Nord SW 73 models... in general table-shaped stands (or Z-shaped) are a good option.Rsf97 wrote:Ah, damn. Well thanks at any rate! Any thoughts on some legs that might work with it that would fit in the case?

Hello,
Here is a picture of the underside of a SW 73 keyboards with the Nord Stand mounted.
This involves drilling holes and voids the warranty.
It's possible.

Re: Compatibility Nord Keyboard/Music Stand Ex
The leg kit includes two crossmembers for stability (i tried practicing without them once, never again). For 73-note HP instruments, they're held in place by a central bolt with an oversized knob. This is not a simple hole drilled into the center of the case... there's meant to be some tension on it, so it's a threaded socket.
If it were possible to mount the legs safely on the 5D 73/61, Nord would surely not have passed on the chance to take your money.

I looked into one of the Nord stands once for my Electro HP, and opted for a table top stand instead: less time consuming to set up, less weight, way less expensive, looks good.

Re: Compatibility Nord Keyboard/Music Stand Ex
I’ve used the Stand Ex velcroed to the bottom of an Electro 5D73 and I’m now using it velcroed to the bottom of an Electro 3 61. It works well and i’ve found it’s pretty stable. The only thing to be wary of is if someone else tries to move the keyboard when they don’t know it’s held on with Velcro. Because with the legs still on, you have to make sure you hold it by the two Stand Ex plates when you move it. With both the 73 and 61 Nord soft bags I’ve found that I can leave the plates velcroed on and fit the keyboard and the four unscrewed legs in both cases. I know none of this is recommended by Nord but it is possible and means I don’t have to carry a separate keyboard stand to gigs.
