I have a foot switch from an old Fender amp that controls rotor speed toggle from slow to fast when I step on the left hand button. I was hoping the right hand button might also be able to be mapped to something else, like rotor 'stop mode', but even though I'm using a stereo cable only the left hand foot switch does anything... I've checked through the menus but doesn't seem to be listed as a function anywhere.

Anyone know whether this is actually possible or not?

Sorry, I don’t think so.
A original Nord switch are wired like this into a stereo Jack

Slow : Sleeve & tip
Stop : None
Fast : Ring & sleeve

Ah ok, thanks for the info; so all Nord compatible footswitches are only one-button?

It should be possible to mod a 2-button footswitch so that one switch is latching between Stop/Slow and the other is momentary to get up to Fast (or latching there too if that is desired)...
I wonder if it goes to Fast if all 3 (Sleeve+Ring+Tip) are connected...? If they are then a Boss FS-6 should work out of the box, by just setting one pedal to latch and the other to momentary.
If it really has to be only Sleeve+Ring without Tip for Fast I guess modding has to be done, and it's probably better done on a simpler pedal than the FS-6.

I would be interested to test this too! The Fender footswitch I have is old and battered so i wouldn't mind ruining it...!

What might also be cool for my needs is to add a second jack to the switch and have a toggle sustain switch....! So I could basically have 'key hold' functionality and change settings without having to hold down the sustain pedal... But the Q would be, could I run this in series with my standard momentary sustain pedal.....

Try to figure out how they work when reading the manual. Now that I have written how the halfmoon switch are working, you might be able to figure out something. But you have to decide which functions you want to use by selecting it in the menu.
As long as voltage are not present, you should not be afraid to ruin anything.

From the manual: System Menu :
7 - ROTARY CONTROL can be set to Open, Closed or Half Moon depending on how you want your switch pedal to control the rotary Effect and whether you are using a Half Moon switch.
8 - ROTARY PEDAL can be set to either Toggle or Hold. Hold mode will give you Fast speed while the pedal is pressed down. In toggle mode stepping on the pedal will switch be- tween Fast and slow/stop Mode.

Search for the Neo Ventilator manual - there is wiring schema in it. Works perfectly for the Nord as well. From menu you must choose half moon.

That’s correct, forgot about that, I have used my Nord halfmoon switch on a Ventilator back in my C1 days.

So, just to take up the Neo soloution. That could be a low cost option to get a floor contact that can do both slow/fast and stop. Try a google search for Neo Instruments Ventilator Remote
