Can't reduce drive enough

Postby jjtmd » 24 Feb 2020, 03:13

On my Electro 5D, I've noticed a new issue, although the drive knob is fully off (counter clockwise), and the number 0 appears, there's still audible drive present, more than I want. Thanks for any insight.

Are you talking about the Leslie sim specifically? nord-electro-forum-f9/nord-electro-5d-organ-hard-to-sound-clean-t10874.html

By "new issue" you mean that it's changed recently after you - did what?

If I'm not mistaken , the fw 2 corrected this issue or at least made it less audible. But introduced the new issue - loud pops, when changing the patches.

Try 7, instead of 9 on drawbars. Pull back expression pedal,,,

A known “feature.” Incomprehensible. Supposedly included because real leslies make noise, but unusable if you want a clean sound or to add drive in some other manner.

I noticed that turning the global keyboard volume up and backing off the control pedal (to which I assign volume on all my patches) greatly reduces the drive, worked great last night.

I think that's the key. I've wondered if all the people who have complained about this have necessarily tried simply backing off the pedal, which is exactly what you would do on the real thing. Or are people finding it's not clean enough even if they back off on the pedal?
