Ok , just heard back from the repair people , they can not replicate the issue and have stress tested every single component on the board . All they can do is a factory reset and firmware reset
Bit annoyed as this issue could pop up again in the future .
Awaiting the board to be shipped back to me currently

I have a Nord Stage 3 that was very intermittent. Sometimes tapping near the buttons would cause it switch programs. The number 5 program button was defective. I took the switch apart and bent the piece that creates the tension.
Apparently it would intermittently make contact on it's own. Seems like a defective switch from the manufacturer of the switch. Bending that piece seems to have fixed the problem. Difficult part of this repair is the access to the switch.
The PC board needs to be removed to gain access. Being an electronic technician helped in this repair. If you are unfamiliar with electronics it would be better to have a technician repair it. Mine was just out of warranty (it did give me problems from the
first month so I put it on the side for a while.)

Hello everyone:

Today I had some pleasant news: My Nord Electro 6D 73 has been repaired. Thank God!!! I will explain to you:

- My NE6 has just a year and a half of use and started a few months ago showing problems with the buttons, mainly the FILTER, and EFFECTS (the Chorus one). They 'stopped working'.
Often, the effects would turn on by themselves while I was playing. I spent a lot of time in the studio remaking tracks for these "ghost" actions.

Here where I live, totally lacking Nord's specialized technical assistance, I found an electronics technician who opened the device and found:

- Aging of the solder (cold solder) of various items on the board
- command keys of the buttons (on-off) in short-circuit, leaving the function permanently on which caused the effects to be randomly activated and the leds were blinking inexplicably;

- the metallic parts of the switch keys (springs) losing their complacency, turning the buttons inoperative.

He fixed the springs (and thus the buttons) making them functional again.

His conclusions, as an electronics technician were:
- A device as expensive as this, should not not face troubles , especially in such a short time.
- Button design errors: inappropriate material (metal springs are very fragile and easily lose their compassion, ceasing to function).

Here is a hope, for those who have this problem with their nords, that it is possible to repair; At least it is relatively easy in this regard compared to Yamaha keyboards that are more complex to access the card.

Clávia should listen to its customers and redesign the parts of their keyboards. After all, an instrument of this magnitude must have a long useful life without problems.

My main conclusion: There is a lack of quality in the hardware. Unfortunate.

Despite that, Nord instruments are worth every penny for the wonderful sounds, IMHO.

I hope I have helped those who are experiencing the same situation with their keyboards.

(Sorry for my English).

Take care.

Some pictures for you to see it's real, but the process was quite simple.

My local tech shared the same opinion regarding the quality of these buttons as he has worked on Nord keyboards for many years. It's worth noting that these problems seem to be happening specifically with the Electro 6 and Stage 3. I've owned 5 other Nord's over the years, gigged heavily with all of them, and have never had a single problem prior to the Electro 6. It's frustrating because as the prices have steadily increased over the years, the quality should be consistent if not better. I'm still bugged about the cheap plastic pots that replaced the firm metal pots starting with the Electro 5 (does the Stage 3 also have the cheap pots?). I use my Electro 6 mostly for gigs, but I'm keeping my Stage 2 (HA76) for now. I'm reluctant to give it up because of these quality issues in spite of all the great improvements on the Stage 3. My Stage 2 still sounds incredible and I've used it for a long time with absolutely no issues. Let's hope they get back on track going forward.

I'm also having continual issues with the buttons on my Nord Stage 3 (the "Shift" and the "Store" button currently), it's very frustrating.

I am taking it to a technician this week, but due to supply chain issues the repair will not be ready for upcoming shows :?
