Apologies. I had not noticed the instructions you had posted earlier, Schorsch - nor my jpegs.
And, FZiegler - I'm grateful that you are adding points, too.
Tomorrow I shall follow the instructions given.
MANY thanks to you both.

Re: Basic help request - Adding a sound file to my Electro6D
Good morning.
Some progress.
I got as far as being ready to upload/download bell-sound files... but the manager says I have already uploaded these files...
Can I just add that I have no idea of how to access the samp lab sounds. I have fiddled with every button and knob on the instrument to no avail.
I only know how to access the main preset sounds the machine came with.
I'm still trying to find my way round on the forums. It's beginners' syndrome.

You don't have to fiddle with buttons and knob trying to casually find how to do things, you have to read Chapter 3 of NE6D manual (Getting started) at page 6, till particularly the "Load a Sample" paragraph at page 9 and do what is written, it is a mini tutorial in 3 pages, all you need is there.

So it’s clear now that transferring samples from your Mac to your Electro does work, and no technical problem prevents this.
Now, just loading a sample to your Electro is not enough to use it. It’s like sugar - placing it into your cupboard means you have it available to be used, but for really using it you have to take it and put it into a cup of coffee or tea.
The Electro is working on the same kind of base - you have loaded your sample into the sampl lib of the Electro, means it’s in the cupboard. Using it requires putting it into a program on your Electro. You either create a new program - please read the manual thoroughly to understand how to do this - or you modify an existing program. For both you have to enable the sample synth section and select the sample you want to play. How to do this in detail is also written in the manual, I can’t tell you exactly because I use Nord Stage 3 only and the operation of the Electro is slightly different

Many thanks for your help, Schorsch. I understand what you are saying and will go back to my Nord and manual later today.

I strongly recommend to have a look at the videos of MyKeysToMusic, Marc explains all basics and advanced topics very well: https://m.youtube.com/@MyKeysToMusic?it ... oNvw%3D%3D
He also maintains his own webpage which you can subscribe at if you like: https://www.mykeystomusic.com/users/sign_in

Re: Basic help request - Adding a sound file to my Electro6D
I should have sent my post from yesterday which I prepared and then deleted it. Talking about the difference of samples and programs. The latter is what you probably used in the past.
But the way Schorsch now explained it with the sugar in the cupboard is by far nicer than saying: samples come from sounds, but they aren't sounds for the Nord. They are the base on which you create sounds with the piano, organ or synth sample engines plus the effects sections.
And really keep in mind maxpiano who multiple times stated that reading the manual is acutally worth the time needed to file through. With or without an online video course.

Re: Basic help request - Adding a sound file to my Electro6D
I have spent considerable time with both the 6D manual and the My Keys To Music videos and I am still stuck.
There is a sound called F:41 Amber Bells in my set-up and that will have to be the sound I use for my band's Christmas shows.
I know I learn better with another human demonstrating computer tasks next to me so I'll try to enrol a mate locally.
Thanks for the hints and tips to here. Much appreciated.
