Hey!This is my first post here even though i read your posts almost every day!I want to post something that seems really strange about new nord electro 6.Yesterday , i tested the nord electro 6d 61 in a store and i was excited to discover that keybed/knobs and drawbars feel stronger than nord electro 5!Many people say that nord electro 5 and 6 have the same keybed but i felt it different.I think nord electro 6 had more ''weighted'' keys than 5!Also i noticed that they had placed the drawbars in more ''uneveness way'' than nord electro 5!I mean that some drawbars were in higher height than other drawbars! Not so much difference in height but they were not straight as an arrow as my nord electro 5d!Anyway i felt they were more stable and more difficult to move than nord electro 5d!So Nord electro 6 users that had electro 5 :
a)Do you think nord electro 6 keybed is more weighted than 5?
b)Do you think that drawbars are more hard-to-pull up and down (wow sos bad english! ) than 5?
c)Did you find out that your drawbars are placed in more uneveness way than 5?Nord makes quality instruments so i don't think they will break or something , i ask just for the aesthetic. For example i saw that in a video too on 0:42 where the first drawbar is not in the same height as the others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1-6py5zR8I

Re: About Nord electro 6
Greetings Kostas. I don't have a E6, but my E5 drawbars were a little bent and slightly uneven height when i got it new, and a few others have reported the drawbars not being perfectly even in height or slightly bent. It may to do with how they are installed at the factory, there was a video posted on the forum a while ago.. They press them on all at the same time and sometimes are a bit uneven in height or slightly bent. I just bent mine strait no worries since. If they were bent badly at say, a 45 degree angle it would have been different. As far as the action and knobs being stiffer, would have to ask for those that have had both. The action on my E5 is perfect for Electric Piano for my tastes, which is mainly what I use it for.

Re: About Nord electro 6
Hi, I had an E5 and now an E6.
a) no difference. And for one week I had the two models side to side.
b) no difference.
c) never noticed something wrong about that ! About your video, some drawbars doesn't have the same setting than the others, it's an optical effect.

Push-pull, what are your thoughts on the E5 vs E6, as far as the B3 section, any changes good or bad? As well as your overall impressions of the two Electros....

Re: About Nord electro 6
The main difference between the two is more about the changes. Don't we all tend to AVOID change? It's funny, the forum is full of the things we do "not" like (politics) or want to see change (be included) versus all the (WOW) great things these Nord unit(s) can do. Yet, I get it. I purchased the NE6D (73) "before selling" my NE5 (I plan to sell the NE5D). I "HAD" to use the new unit (NE6) because the NE5 was in the shop. It was TOUGH - only had the new one 2 days! Couldn't be that much different - well ...
I've owned (& sold) a NE3, NE4D, NE4, and the NE5D plus the NE6D are currently in my house together. What I feel is that the NE6D One of the BEST multi use Keyboards on the market. The hard part: "PROGRAMING" the unit(s). Personally, had I not been willing to learn and figure out the NE3 - I would have never upgraded and tried some easier keyboard. I liked the challenge. And I credit the USA rep Pablo for giving me HIS opinion of certain things, issues, questions, etc even when I felt like throwing it out a window. Pablo was SPOT-ON right every time! Also, nearly EVERYONE who hears the NORD wants one, wants THAT sound that we as individuals program on our personal Nord units and either does not want something complex, or spend the money to make it so!
That being said, the two "are" different. How, well, you actually have MORE ways to put the NE6D into action - even though a few functions are GONE (the Set List Function (which I liked but was time consuming IMHO) and the way the OLDER NE5D unit was able to use the EFFECTS on BOTH layers etc.) Honestly, I did not like the Set List function at first. And there MUST be something in the fact they took it away after only ONE upgrade. Jury is still out, but I think that makes it LESS complex or will in the long run.
What I've tried to do is duplicate certain patches/samples (in a way - aren't they all SAMPLES) - programming the "NEW NE6D" unit to my liking. It's different. In the long run I WILL sell the NE5D. No hurry. But whomever gets & purchases it will have a FULLY programmed Nord and will have an EASIER time making it (the NE5D) his or her own.
Each Nord I have owned was special. I liked them all. If I could afford keeping them all and using them as I saw fit, I'd have a collection of them. I'd "LOVE" to try a Stage, but the price is too step. I play for fun (I've a full time job) so the band money goes to these upgrades. The organ/B3 - I'd say are similar. Slight changes of course, but they BOTH are good. One's main question beyond all of it .... if one is about to purchase (let alone if ANY of the above resonates) .... Which Model? (61 or 73 notes) and HA/HP versus waterfall. If I could only be able to have one of each ... every model including the Stage, Piano, Lead & C2D. That way I would need a new car/truck and a roadie to carry it all too. Ha! LOL.

For the organ section, I haven't noticed any change in the sound of the B3.
The only difference I've found is the placement of the reverb: after the Leslie in the NE5 (as usual) and BEFORE the Leslie in the NE6. Instant oldschool effect !
For the overall impression, I needed three layers on many songs, the seamless transition is very very cool and now I often have a patch for the verse, an other for the refrain, etc.

NE5 has that “leaky” noisy sound (which I loved) on the Vintage B3. NE6 doesn’t have it. I miss it.

Strange as they share teh same (C2D) emulation.
Are you sure you don’t have the B3 model set to clean in the Sound menu?
2 - B3 Organ Tonewheel ModE
sets the level of tonewheel crosstalk and cable leakage artifacts of the B3 organ model.
Range: Clean, Vintage 1 (default), Vintage 2

Re: About Nord electro 6
NE5 has Vintage 1,2, and 3 for the B3 in the tonewheel settings. #3 is the really leaky dirty tonewheel setting that I loved and used. NE6 has only 1 & 2. That’s it. Neither 1 nor 2 sound like that on the 6. Yes, they both have Clean.
I wish they could restore Vintage #3 in an update but I’m not sure how that works. I simply do not understand why they did away with it.
