Can't possibly be mono..!?! It must be stereo jack output which is quite strange itself. OR then it is mono

Well the web site is up and the vid is ok. I need to hear through better speakers. Seems it only accepts trigger inputs? I was hoping I could process some acoustic sounds through it as well. I wonder what the price point will be. You know I could have a lot of fun with this though! and with that little alessis quad pad it would fit in nice and easy!

I must say I am quite puzzled with these new Nords... (C2D seems to be the best as an idea. Others, I don't know...)

About ND:
lack of pads, lack of sequencer, single output.
And finaly, just four voices? Am I right? For example, if you play it with Roland Octapad, what do you have? 4 sounds and 4 silent pads?

To me this machine probably sounds very good (it has to!) but is it too simple to be really useful?

There is nothing known about the Voices; could well be 8 per channel or something like that. You have to be able to play a roll with a longer decay...
Four channels, that's right. Which means four silent pads on a Roland Octapad. Stockholm will wonder: Roland? Never met the guy! :)

I wonder if maybe it is an entry level product just for getting a feeling of demand. All depends on the price point really, I know what I would pay and if it is more I wont buy. Still need some more samples and reviews to get a better feel for it. I would love to have it as it is but really would it take much to refine it a bit!

I thought I had read somewhere that the price will be $399 ? Or am I going crazy ?

EDIT : it seems it's £399. Not quite the same is it? :?

"Nord Drum will ship in the UK in March 2012 with an estimated selling price of £399 RRP inc VAT."

Figure around 500 US. I'm not sold yet heck you still need some pads or something to trigger it. The little alessis is 100. I'm not sure it is worth 6 bills. Yet!

ok, hear me out, i think this thing could be cool.. i have an old ddrum4 and i've played around with it on a real kit with a real drummer using the old ddrum red shot acoustic triggers and the result can be pretty interesting.. for a $600 investment (nord drum + triggers) you basically add electronic drum sounds to a kit.. and then MIDI out to your synth and your drummer can help re-enact ELP's version of Ginastera's 1st Piano Concerto..

ok, I'm reaching there, but I think it's pretty neat.. 4 more channels would have made it actually very neat, though..
