Nord drum 3p albin kit problem...

Post by soon81 »

os has been updated to the latest version. I put an albin sound on it.
The other sounds come out well, but only the kick (pad 1) sound is strange. Help

Hi soon81,

In what way soes it sound strange? There are a couple of programs in that bank, do they all sounds strange on pad1? How do you trigger it, with a drum pedal or with the pad itself, does that make any difference in how it sounds? Perhaps you have to tweak the sensitivity settings.

Ok, could you give more details? Otherwise it’s quite difficult to help you. It could be anything,

-could you describe what is strange about the sound, or perhaps record it?

-is it just one pad consistently, or also others?
If it only occurs with sounds on pad1, could it be that that specific pad of your NP3 is broken? You can rearrange which physical pad connects to which sound (‘channel’). Or if you’re using a pedal, perhaps the pedal is not ok, or the sensitivity settings, or the connection?

If it’s not only with pad1, does the strange sound come from one side (left or right)? Did you check your stereo connections, speakers, or headphones?

There is no factory reset for the whole instrument that I know of, perhaps try reinstalling the OS, try reinstalling the bank, the factory banks can also be downloaded from the website

Only the kick sound is strange.
Even if you change the pad arrangement (PL1 ~ 4), only the kick (pad 1) sound is abnormal.
Some banks sound good, but usually the sound is too low or noisy.
I have reinstalled Os to the latest version, and it does not get better if I download the factory sound.
Even if you connect a kick trigger, there is no sound difference when you play with a stick.
The test was made only with the ND3P headphone jack.

Hi soon81,
Maybe it’s not the 3p, but the cables, amplifier, speakers or headphones that you are using?
Try other cables, or if you’re using headphones, try different headphones, I would start with that. If it’s connected to an amplifier or console, use the stereo outputs and lower the output level, perhaps you are overdriving your amp/speakers. Sometimes something in the room, or within the speakers or headphones will resonate (buzz) at certain frequencies, try other headphones or speakers, or another room. If you think it’s your 3p, perhaps you should contact your dealer to check what the options are..
