Hello,
I'm blocking on one things from several days...
I use Ableton Live Lite, with a Nord Drum 3P, the link is done with the Roland UM-ONE (DIN midi / USB) cable.
When I want to record a loop of drum with Ableton (so Armed), 2 notes are played.
Always the snare (the 2nd PAD initialized on the superior line ) and the sound I'm playing.
E.g. if I'm playing the Kick, I have 2 sounds, the Kick and the Snare
if I'm playing the HiHat, I have 2 sounds, the HiHat and the Snare
When I stop record (not Armed) I have correct sound. (in fact no sound returned by Ableton)
On side midi setting of ND3P, I selected GL = 10 and CH = 10
I tryed LOCAL = OFF but same problem
On Ableton Source is:
Roland UM-ONE
CH = 10
and Destination is:
Roland UM-ONE
CH = 10
Do you have an idead? what I forgot?
PS: My english language is note my 1st language...

Re: Nord Drum 3P + Ableton (double notes)
Hi Phillius, welcome to the forum!!
The problem is probably (if I read your setup correctly) that you are using the same MIDI channel for the individual MIDI channels as your Global MIDI channel on your Nord drum.
You can use the individual MIDI channels to control sound parameters or play melodies, but you should always choose a different MIDI channel than the Global MIDI channel. If you’re not going to control sound parameters, it’s best to switch them off.. You’re setting the should look like this:
[GL.10] (global MIDI channel = 10
[Ch.OF] (individual channel off, for each of the 6 channels of your 3P)
In your sequencer program a drum pattern using the notes set per channel ( [n.60] etc) and send it on MIDI channel 10...
Hope this helps,
Albert

Re: Nord Drum 3P + Ableton (double notes)
Hi Albert,
Thanks for your hospitality.
and yes your explaination help me!!!
Thank you very much for your response, I understand now that each PAD have a channel (like if on a keyboard we have one channel per note)
So I understood that in MIDI setting, I have to change of channel of PAD with the 'CH SELECT' buttons (CH is not the global... )
Now, It's OK with Ableton!!!
I changed all channel (CH) on OFF for each PAD, and I let GL = 10
Phil.
