I would like to connect to the MIDI Out of a Nord Drum 3P a MIDI Solutions Event Processor to overcome the MIDI restrictions - the Event Processor is a translator that can turn "Channel 16, Note 60" into "Channel 10, Note 60" for example and as such I would be able to route 6 pads to 6 different MIDI channels instead of only one Global (which seems to be a HUGE dumb problem, every 2nd question in this forum is MIDI related, why can't Clavia Nord fix this???)
BUT: the Event Processor requires 5V power through MIDI out, it doesn´t have a power supply of its own and apparently, some "modern" synths only provide 3.3V. Does anyone know how much voltage the Nord Drum provides on MIDI Out?

Re: Available Voltage on MIDI Out
If you haven't purchased the Event Processor yet, newer Midi Solutions Event processors work at 3.3v
If you already own the Event Processor, just plug it in and see if it works.

Re: Available Voltage on MIDI Out
Hi,
Actually, fellow forum user MMS_NORD found out that if you use the lowest notes, in the range 0-15 the ND2 will send on corresponding MIDI channels 1-16, perhaps the 3P does the same, see: nord-drum-forum-f27/send-one-midi-channel-per-pad-t19538.html#p138207
As for the MIDI solutions box, I remember that they listed Nord keyboards as incompatible with their products, I wouldn't be surprised if the same holds true for the Nord drum series.
Perhaps try Blokas MIDI hub, if you still need this functionality given the possible solution found by MMS_NORD..

Re: Available Voltage on MIDI Out
So I got the MIDI Solutions device, plugged it in and yes, the Nord Drum 3P does provide enough power for it, even though the Event aprocessor Plus is still one of the old 5V devices.
So the answer is: The Nord Drum 3P provides 5V through MIDI out.
