For the reasons I listed above: right now, the competition is simply better.

EVERY other clone is cheaper than the C2D. (except XK-5 which is more targeted at the church market)

The Viscount Legend gives you a more faithful interface, almost completely identical to a real Hammond.
The Legend Live gives you the same sound, full set of real drawbars and is significantly cheaper and almost as portable as the C2D.

The Hammond SK2 gives you lots of extra sounds, tweakable effects and a more customizable Hammond sound.

The Crumar Mojo gives you arguably the best Hammond sound available plus very good extra sounds, and is more than 1000€ cheaper.

All of these are also available in single-manual format, very cheap and portable. True, Nord has the Electro line, but it's not a "pure" organ and it's very expensive.

And that's without even mentioning Numa Organs and UHL instruments.

Right now, the only concrete advantage the C2D has over the competition is portability, and that by a very slim margin (a few cms, a couple of kgs). Little justification for spending hundreds-thousands more bucks...

Well, yes. But Viscount has no Farfisa or Vox or pipe organs. They should target to improve Farfisa and add all effects from Stage :-)

Why would you ask Nord to update it the same level of their competitors clone? Just because you really want to buy a Nord and a Nord only? Just buy the competitors if they are better? Nord is managing 4 lines of products at the same time (Stage, Electro, Nord Lead and C2), they cannot be on top of it on all at the same time....Which gives some room for competitors to emerge....I might be wrong but Viscount doesn't have any equivalent as Nord in term of line of products right? Numa is the same? So, just buy the competitor if you like them, what reasons do you have to NOT by an Organ clone from them?

The C2 line (include C2D) has something that is very unique and that is the pipe organ. I’ve tried the SK series which sounds great but when it comes to practicing pipe organ music you need the couplers and ability to register on the fly just like on a pipe organ console. These features are rarely seen on any one piece hardware instruments (under $10,000) that are as easy to set up and transport as the C2.

So basically Clavia, please hold the pipe organ upgrades for a another ten years since I’ve exhausted my spouse’s good graces with the stage 3 purchase this year. :)

+1 for the spouse...She was a bit pissed off in seeing the new Prophet 12 plus the C2 plus the Propeht 08 plus the the 8U rack (Filled with my studio expander a at least...) and the two Ps-10P Parasource than just "fall off the tree" in 4 years I spent out of the Province because of job....I would say, that was the only good thing in being 1500 km apart from home and coming back only for 3/4 weeks per year....

Does anybody have news about new line of Nord's Hammond clone?
I listen lot of demos, and I think C2D sounds better then others...I know it's 5 year old machine right now, but drive, Leslie simulation are the best if we except Ventilator... :P

Yo! Does anyone have ANY idea on if there will be a C3 organ? I'm yet to buy a C2D but if there will be a new C3 coming I guess the prices would drop on the C2D? Should I buy one now should I wait a little?

Before I bought mine I thought a lot about what would be next for Nord in the C line. Frankly the C2D checked every box that I wanted/needed which in the end is all that matters. After buying a lot of gear over the last 5 years I'm finally at the point where I know what I want and can settle on getting it once and for all (or for the next several years at least). Figure out what you need and base your decision that that, not what could be.

Don't know what Nord has coming next, but they definitely have some fierce competition in the hammond category.
