flmc- That leads me to a question, and you seem to be very informed on technical details. Just out of curiosity, if a person loads an upgrade into his Nord, and for some reason does not like it, can it be removed? Can the organ be returned to the previous operating system? Can components of an upgrade be selected or is it an all-or-nothing deal? Thanks

Hi Mooser,

It's all or nothing, no cherry-picking individual aspects of an OS update. If you maintain copies of older OS', there is no problem to revert back to prior OS if you prefer.

Bless,

Pablo

Confirm. I still wish the two buttons were a rocker or paddle. I think it would be more intuitive and ergonomic, and retain the LED advantages. Perhaps a huge-tusked megafauna will take this under consideration.

I don't design or build them, just handle tech support for USA and Canada (and from anyone from anywhere else who happens to stumble into my email inbox or onto my phone line)

Hello Pablo. I'm very happy with the C2D upgrade to my C2, and wouldn't remove. And I think very highly of Nord for making it available, and so soon.
I am eager to try a Nord weighted-key stage piano, and would love to finish off my rig with one. And I can't help dreaming about a system which combines the program advantages of the LED drawbuttons with the intuitive ergonomics of drawbars, but without going to motorised sliders.
Since you are a service person, I'll contact Nord directly with my drawings, plans and mock-ups.

Wow, I never dreamed clonewheel-organ designers could throw snowballs so darn hard, and with such accuracy! And yelling "You want 'paddles'? Go buy an Electone!"

Hi

I often used presets when I played a real Hammond. So far I've not found any great problem with the C2D except it should IMHO have the full set of 10 presets plus a "0" (to allow MIDI connected instruments to be played alone.

On the vintage console Hammonds the pre-sets settings could be changed on a panel of color-coded wires and screw locations. It's a little tedious to do. And, like the C2D you can customise the presets, but you can't vary them once selected.

Of course, Nord could bring out a C2D2, if Lucas isn't overly litigious.

I have to say that I think this is a real non issue. I owned and played a B3 for over 25 years and before that L and T models and I never missed the possibility to tweek a preset (which did not exist on the real Hammonds except if you uSed a screw driver). I think that the C2D is emulating a real Hammond (B3) perfectly. To me the request for adjustable presets seems to come from lack of experience to play the organ "Hammond style". Frankly, the drawbars are all you need. I do not believe that many Hammond players depend on the presets at all. I honestly have not even thougt of using the neither on the B3, nor on the Nord. I suggest anyone playing a C2D practice on using the drawbars. Once you are ok with that, that is all you need.
