Nord C2 32 note pedalboard w toe studs

Postby vanderhill22 » 27 Nov 2012, 02:49

Hello all,

I'm planning on making a set of midified pedals for my nord C2 this Christmas break. I was messing around with the MIDI cc settings and found that I can scroll through the presets (the 1,2,3 buttons above the drawbutton leds) on MIDI controller cc #3 but it is on a continuous scale (via the extern pot on my stage ex). I'm curious how I could set up a seperate toe piston device to select the presets while in Pipe Organ mode (B3 i don't have to worry since I usually have a free hand). It wouldn't have to be 6 different pistons, I would be happy if I could just kick a single piston to move through the presets 1 to (6), one by one. Being new to designing any kind of midi device I was wondering if anyone have any ideas? Also any good suggestions for a midi interface/adapter for a 32 note organ pedal board?

Thanks
Micah

Hey, that is SWEET !!!!!! i had something similiar (27 pedals, though) up until the last month. the 27 pedalboard ( not Nord!) had very questionable electronics, & i hated to play just a one octave pedalboard on gigs . Recently, i got a good deal on the Roland pk-7a, which i can use both at home & at gigs. But i gotta admit : a BIG pedalboard like yours, when played, lets both you & the audience know that you are REALLY playing organ like an organist, rather than a keys player that just plays a little bit of organ hear & there. Your's is a SERIOUS set up !!!!!

I enjoy my 17/18 note pedal boards to.
18 notes cover well what i play. The 25 hammond looks great. But the extra range is a little overkill

The one good thing about the 2 octave plus pedalboard is how good & VINTAGE it looks. However, with the C2 or C2d, the WIDTH of the board is considerably less than the more traditional looking tonewheel clones ( hammond, korg, roland, mojo, etc) so the octave & a half width of the Roland or Hammond pedalboards looks great with the nord. Now, all i need is that awesome-looking cabinet that flmc59 made a little while back. but then.....portability is the name of the game with nord, & with the right Z-stand, the c2 or crd looks great already.

Just out of curiosity (and to show my complete lack of knowledge on this): why are the pedals so long? Is it the mechanism? or another reason? Doesn't this interfere with a bench?

Why are the pedals so long? Cause my feets too big! That is one amazing pedalboard!

In the big pedal department, there's the Hammond 25 note, and then what I've always heard called the "AGO" (American Guild of Organists?) 32 note. which is radiussed up at the high and low ends
